Fabulous spot, luxurious dining rooms , sumptuous service, ingredients matched perfectly , flavours very well defined and technically flawless presentation of every course we ordered. On the minus side we think the portions are far too small. We appreciate the style of cuisine ( "modern" British ) is in vogue at the moment but we felt Linthwaite took this cue too literally and if it wasn't for the very generous bread basket, we would have come away feeling distinctly unsatisfied. We also felt the experience represented relatively poor value ( £133 for 2 with only a half bottle of house white, 2 aperitifs and a small port at the end ) , probably as a result of being part of a luxury hotel where prices tend to be a few notches up on equivalent restaurants which don't offer accommodation.
