We stayed here for 3 nights over Easter. Maxine & Graham have just reached 12 months as the owners. The quality of their hosting and breakfasts are exceptional and made this an excellent break. The rooms are to be refurbished, but are still very clean and comfortable as they are. We would not hesitate to recommend this to our friends and family and will definitely return. A special mention has to be for the cakes left in our room each day. A very nice touch.

First of all i have much experience staying all over the country with work. This has to be one of the most pleasant guest houses i have stayed in.

The location could not be better for a trip to the Lakes, in the middle of Bowness.
The owners were lovely and even had a home made cake waiting in my room!

This is the sort of service that you just cant receive in a large hotel. Needless to say i have booked again to return in the summer.

Thank-you very much Bay House!

We have just returned from our two nights stay at the bayhouse guest house and have to say we have had a really enjoyable stay! Very welcoming owners, Maxine and Graham really going out of their way to welcome us !our rooms were spotless and had a pleasant view of the lake over the yacht club! Lovely to see all the boats on a morning when we opened the curtains. Was even nicer to come back to our room ,after being out all day to tea, coffee and delicious piece of Graham's homemade cake! Lovely ! Graham and Maxine even texted us the day before to tell us they were looking forward to our visit! How many places do that? So even before we arrived ,we had a feel for how our stay was going to be! It is in a great location with all the fab amenities of Bowness ! will definitely be returning. !!! Thank you ! Janine and Neville Gill. leeds

We stayed for 3 nights and thoroughly enjoyed Maxine and Graham's hospitality. They do everything they can to ensure you have an enjoyable stay with them and are so warm and friendly you feel instantly at home. The breakfasts are super with a good choice on the menu and the homemade jams and marmalade are delicious. Our bedroom was clean, quiet and comfortable with a view of the lake with the added treat of homemade cake in your room every day - very welcome after a days sightseeing. We would definitely recommend this B&B and we wish Maxine and Graham every success in their venture.

Maxine and Graham are working hard to lift the standards of the rooms from tired to comfortable. The lounge and dining room is a great example of what they will achieve but, o dear, our room was an example of tiredness and basic. We were able to hear all movements, speech and snores surrounding us and the "Lake View" is a bit poetic! . On the plus side Maxine's home made jam at breakfast is the best and in the room a nice touch was the home made Ginger cake "to die for". We understand they too have a social life, however, it would be a lot better if when they do leave the place unattended that a contact number for guests needing help could be placed either outside by the locked door (or even better, on the key ring) and not a note posted on the lounge door where guests trying to get in cannot possibly read ! . This would then prevent stranded guests who have either forgotten/lost their key from trying to get in by ringing the door bell late at night for access - and not leave it to other gusts to get up and open the door to "who knows" . Other guests would also then benefit from not being disturbed as we were !!
We wish them well in the early days of their project ( they've only been here 10 months) and would book again once the rooms are completed to a comfortable standard.
