This b/b was fantastic Jason was so friendly always stopped to have a chat to the wife and I, room 15 best view ever spotless, we found the waitress's so friendly and helpful, the breakfast was well worth a mention, plus the cereals and fruit, could not ask for anything better in b/b's all the shops and restaurants close by, we plan to go back in a couple of months.

My wife and i had 3 great nights at Laurel Cottage . When we arrived Jason was there to greet us and to point out where to park our car which was a 3 min walk away and NOT as an earlier reviewer said 15 mins away. The cottage is in a superb location for the lake / restaurants / bars / shopping / cinema , and we did not need transport to anywhere which was realy good . We stayed in one of the four poster bedrooms , and we found it to be spotless and roomy. We had breakfast delivered to our room each morning at the agreed time , and that was superb as it set us up nicely for the day ahead. We purchased a voucher from Jason for the spa at the Mcdonald hotel across the road and we had a great afternoon there , we were in the pool sauna and steam room and sunbathed on the pool terrace overlooking the lake ! Smashing !.
Do not hesitate to book this hotel , and disregard any negative comments from the "amatuer critics" who write on here sometimes . It takes twice as much effort to write a good review , as it does to write a bad review . We will be back , and thank you for the pleasent experiance ...

Room Tip: Four poster rooms for a romantic weekend !

We have just returned from a three night stay at this fabulous B&B, the staff were brilliant and very friendly. Tony gave us great advice on the best places to eat and drink and the location of this beautiful B&B could not of been better as it was one minutes walk from the lake and all the other amenities, which meant once you had arrived you did not have to use your car unless you were visiting another location. Our room was lovely and bright and very clean with plenty of tea and coffee and the bed was very comfortable and we slept as if we were at home. The cooked breakfasts were fab and there was plenty of juices, cereal, toast and jams, and fresh fruit to choose from along with tea and coffee, everthing to set you up for a day of activities.
I would recommend Laurel Cottage without any hesitation and we shall be returning again in the future. Keep up the great work and we shall see you all again soon.

A lovely place to stay for a weekend in Bowness. Very central to all the fabulous restaurants in the area. Comfortable, spotless and very friendly. The breakfasts were delicious, and the people very welcoming and friendly. In fact, can't fault the place at all. We will be back.

Me and my girlfriend have just returned from our stay at the Laurel Cottage. It was a lovely place to stay, very picturesque and traditional and in a very good location, right by all the pubs and restaurants and the lake. The staff are very welcoming and friendly and the room was lovely, the breakfast was delicious with plenty to choose from. The car park is a 2 minute walk away and was all safe and secure. Absolutely no bad points at all, would definitely recommend others to stay here. We will definitely be going back soon.

Room Tip: Would request your own bathroom as some rooms share one

My partner & I have just returned from a 2 night stay over the Easter break to celebrate my birthday.
This is a lovely cottage, right in the centre, with bars, shops & restaurants on our doorstep.
We received a lovely welcome from Tony as the owners were away. He told us what was round & about us which we found helpful.
We were able to park our car in a bigger car park which is just a 2 min walk to the left of the cottage. Laurel Cottage has their own spaces there for guests so there's no charge & no awkward parking.
Our room, which was number 18, was really cosy & clean, there were a lovely bunch of tulips and a birthday card in our room which I thought was a really nice touch.
Our room had freeview TV, ensuite, wardrobe, dressing table & coffee & tea which was everything we needed. The only slight downfall in our room was the shower as it only trickled ha, but it didn't bother us too much. We wern't disturbed at all as it was quite quiet.
The breakfast was lovley, we were offered toast & jams, coffe or tea to start with & then had the cottage grill (cooked breakfast) & it set us up for most of the day as there was plenty on our plates & cooked lovely, the cumberland sausage was huge! We also had a choice of cereals, fruit & fresh orange & the staff were friendly.
We couldn't comment on the pool & fitness centre as we didn't have time to use it.
This really was a lovely homely place to stay & we would go back & would definitely recommend it!

Excellent location & service from Jason & his team. Up-graded to 4 poster room with new en-suite & to top it all we had breakfast served in room for both days. Parking is tight but Jason will assist. Everything on doorstep so perfect location. Will return again.
