The piers at Bowness allow anyone, able-bodied or wheel chair bound, to explore Windermere. There are several different routes which can be taken, and the option to stay on-board for a round trip or get off and explore further away from lakeside. The 24 hour ticket for multiple sailings is a great cost saving idea.

Thank you for your lovely & informative review of our attraction. Not all our vessels or routes are wheelchair accessible especially in Winter season so we do advise wheelchair-users to contact us in advance so we can advise them accordingly.

It was a lovely way to travel but the round the lake ticket at 35 pounds for 2 was quite steep. Also the last boat left before 6pm. So if you wanted to stay any longer you had to get a taxi back. The boats were very clean and had plenty of different areas to sit. There was toilets and a good bar for drinks and snacks and the staff were very nice.

Thank you for your review of our attraction. The "round the lake" or freedom ticket as we call it is valid on ALL our scheduled sailings & for a period of 24 hours from the time of purchase.
Most of our sailings do finish around 6ish from & to Lakeside or Ambleside as the demand for these destinations is mainly during the day with few visitors after this time.
In the summer season, in Bowness we have islands cruises & a sunset cruise which run all evening until it gets dark. These cruises are included in the cost of the freedom ticket.
Also, if you purchased your freedom ticket during the day, with the 24 hour validity period, you would have time to squeeze in another cruise the next morning, therefore spreading the cost of the ticket over two days.
With all this in mind, is £35 for two adults still quite steep?
But I am pleased to read that you found our boats very clean, our bar good & our staff very nice.
I hope you can make it back to our attraction again in the near future & find that in the words of Kenneth Grahame "There's nothing . . . absolutely nothing . . . half so much worth doing as simply messing around in boats"!

This was a fantastic cruise with a knowledgeable and entertaining skipper. Only problem was the cold weather which was made better by the hot chocolate laced with rum available on board. Beautiful lake, with some pretty townsites on the lakes edge. Commentary pointed out the notable sites and explained where some of the place names originated from. We also had the RAF on low flying exercises fly past twice which added to the enjoyment of the day.

Thank you for your lovely review of our attraction. I'm pleased to read that you found our cruise fantastic & our skipper knowledgeable & entertaining! Most of our staff read these reviews too & the feedback is invaluable to us all at every level.
I read that your visit was in April- the month of four seasons in one day! I guess you were unlucky enough to mainly experience Winter on your visit! However I am glad to read that the hot chocolate & rum made it a little better.
I hope next time your visit is a little more summery although a raincoat & cardie is always a good idea whatever the month in the Lakes!
