Bryson's offered an excellant afternoon tea, at half the price of the local hotels. The upstairs tea room was air conditioned and clean and well presented. The afternoon tea had a good selection of sandwiches, cream cakes and scones - I would highly recomend the treacle and date scone !

On a trip to Windermere on a very hot day we called in Brysons for afternoon tea. The upstairs room was cool, clean, bright and nicely furnished. We were soon seated and our order taken. A few minutes later a large pot of tea appeared followed in a matter of minutes by the food. The presentation was very good and everything tasted delicious there was more than enough for the two of us, it was almost faultless. The only little niggle we had was the cream for the scones, clotted or thick cream is preferable to whipped cream on scones. Our little niggle however will not stop us returning, as the service was superb and we thought the tea for two was reasonable.

The Tea room is upstairs and is air conditioned which was a blessing as it was so hot. We went all the days we were in Bowness as the service and attitude of the staff, along with the food was marvellous. On one day our friend had ordered scone and jam and had put the jam on the scone before she noticed it was raspberry - she is allergic to raspberries. She was so upset. The waitress swiftly took it away, along with all her cutlery and napkin and replaced them all, no problem. We have recommended this little place to lots of people since. We were so impressed. What a difference it makes when people care. The food is brilliant too, try the plum bread.

Went 20 June 2013 for lunch. Have been over a number of years to Bryson's both in Bowness and Keswick. Both restaurants are very good.

In Bowness restaurant we had beautifully cooked baked potato with plenty of cheese and generous side salad with nice dressing. Surroundings clean, comfortable seats and very pleasant place to sit and eat in. Staff are lovely, professional, attentive and very pleasant in the restaurant upstairs. There was a slight misunderstanding with the young, dark haired waiter and we laughed when we realised it was our fault.

Staff are also excellent downstairs in the bakery. The lady assistant downstairs offered to put the last ginger cake aside for us to save us carrying it around as we didn't want to risk someone else buying it. She had a lovely, smiley face and kind hearted nature. We bought a number of bakery items when we went back later and know that they are quality goods.

We have no hesitation in recommending Bryson's to anyone and will certainly go back. Excellent value for money.
