“A nice waterside restaurant, pity about the noisy ill-behaved unsupervised children”
Reviewed April 12, 2014

Liked the waterside location close to where my wife and I stayed. Food and drinks were good and quite reasonably priced. Disliked that about 5 noisy children rampaged through the restaurant when we were there, disturbing our peace and quiet and dirtied the long glass doors with their grubby hands when going in out without any kind of parental supervision. We nearly left in outrage but thankfully the children left after about half an hour so we could enjoy the rest of the evening.

“Simple fresh and tasty lunch!”
Reviewed April 9, 2014

We came across this lovey marina on a drive past Windermere and decided to stop off for a light lunch. Despite being only the start of April It was a beautifully sunny afternoon so we selected a table on the decking overlooking the Marina. It was a beautiful sun trap. We ordered from the dedicated lunchtime baguette menu, which was very reasonably priced. We also had some mixed olives to nibble with our beautifully chilled drinks, while the food was being prepared. The olives were plump and delicious. The baguettes, served with a side salad, were really lovely too. The bread was beautifully fresh light and crispy. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I would definitely seek out this place again, particularly on a sunny day!

“Lovely lunch, lovely setting”
Reviewed March 26, 2014

We had a great meal for two here yesterday, can't wait to go back there on a lovely sunny day as the marina view is just delightful.

The menu had a good range - light bites and starters ranging from £3-6 ish, mains were around £12-£15ish and a separate lunchtime baguette menu. Everything sounded interesting and there was a special on that day of goats cheese ravioli with truffle oil and parmesan.

Our starters were king prawns in a buttery oil with spring onion, garlic, chili and sezchuan pepper (think of the Spanish gambas pil pil but with an oriental twist) which was completely delicious. The pepper gave it quite a unique flavour and the prawns were lovely and tender. Plus houmous and pita bread - the houmous was obviously home made and the pita was fresh, light, and warm. The pita was great to dunk in the oil from the prawns too :)

We had a rare treat and shared pizzas for our main; one was the Diavola (green chili, jalapenos, peperoni) which wasn't the spiciest Diavola I've ever had, but it was very tasty. The other was goats cheese, spinach and caramelised onion which was delicious!!! They had lovely thin bases which had been cooked properly so held their crispness, and they were pretty large! I think next time we'd just share one between us as we were so full by the end ;)

A beer, a gin n tonic, plus two bottles of house wine later (well we had a lot of pizza to take our time getting through ;) and it cost us just under £60, which for a delicious main meal was pretty reasonable!

The bar area was lovely for lunch and there is outside seating, some under cover, which I have my eye on for next time the sun is out. There is also a more formal dining room upstairs which we didn't see but were told you have to book.

The service was excellent and the waitress was very chatty and friendly. We will definitely be back!
