We are here on a 2 day post Christmas break booked through Woucher at a great price B&B.

This hotel is tucked away down one of the side streets that you would not normally find but it is very central and right in the middle of the shops, restaurants, bars etc. Everywhere is only a short walk including the lake with its swans, ducks and ferry rides.

The venue consists of a hotel with restaurant, adjacent bar with log fires and an additional building with has further rooms.

We were in the adjacent building so only went into the main building to check in and eat breakfast.

The bar has a very friendly country pub feel with pool table and jukebox. The room we had was on the ground floor facing the lake although you would struggle to see the water through the boat yard.

Breakfast ( kippers and smoked salmon & scrambled egg was our choice rather than the quality looking full lakeland feast) was well above average as was the quality of the fittings in the room. We had a wet-room rather than a shower which was nice.

There is no on site parking however there is an NCPI just 1 minute walk which is quite expensive.

John is the man to see, he is very helpful and will try and help in any way. We will definitely return.

Make a int of going to The Hole in t'Wall pub about 10 paces away.

Recently returned from a 3 night stay at the White House Hotel and have to say we were very impressed! The Hotel is ideally situated in the heart of Bowness-on-Windermere, a great destination for a walking holiday. The rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable.
We ate in the restaurant on our second night and were very happy with the quality of the food and the service. Breakfast was hearty with plenty of choice.
We will definitely be back to the White House this summer!

Stayed 2 nights 30th Dec to 1st Jan including our New Years Eve Dinner for myself, my partner and my 7 year old. An amazing stay, family room in the annexe was perfect, spacious, quiet and very comfortable.

Staff are extremely pleasant and helpful here including John the owner who was wonderful and accommodating from the moment I rang to book until the moment we checked out.

Our New Years Eve dinner was absolutely delicious and the restaurant ambiance and atmosphere extremely pleasant.

What an amazing couple of days and would recommend for anyone to stay here. Thank you to all at The White House

We have just spent 2 enjoyable nights in the White House in Bowness. The first person you meet as you arrive is John the Manager, who is a great host and makes you feel welcome as soon as you arrive. The staff were all wonderful, polite and hard working. We were staying in room 2 which was comfortable and pleasant, the only slight issue is the room was not very large but saying that we coped well enough. The Hotel is in a fantastic location and you are on top of all the amenities and local attractions. I would recommend this Hotel for a relaxing getaway. We will be returning in the New Year with our Grandchildren as they will love the Hotel..

We found this little gem last Thursday 15/11/12 after deciding to check out of another nearby establishment due to being very unhappy, John was very accommodating & found us a great room in the Annexe with a wet room, 6ft bed & enough room to have a party in (Although we didn't). The bed was really comfy & there was plenty of tea & coffee provided. In the morning we plumped for the Lakeland breakfast which was lovely. We also arte in the restaurant on the 2nd evening & a great T bone steak was served. There is only one criticism - please can we have better bread with the soup, it was let down by this - but that's it. lovely place, supurb friendly staff & we will definately be back. Thanks John & the rest of the team for your generosity & excellent service.

Room Tip: We were in room 3
