We popped in by chance after a very damp river cruise across Windermere for a hot drink. Upon arrival we were greeted warmly and couldn't resist a scone as they looked so nice. They were served with a choice of jam and cream and were absolutely huge! Excellent service and yummy food, it's a shame we live so far away!!

A lovely little place with great friendly staff. Cherry scones were fantastic, and freshly baked when
we arrived so a great welcoming smell!

Well it was Easter Sunday and time to dust the motorbike off again and give it its inaugural run of the year.

The only difference this year was that both my brother and I both had pillion passengers..........our wives :-(

After a VERY cold start to the day we arrived at out 1st of 2 pit stops, this little tea room.

The main reason we chose this for our brunch stop, is that we found it around this time last year, so we knew where we were heading and knew how long it would take to get there (and more crucially in the lakes, where to park the bikes).

All 4 of us chose the "all day brunch". (Which was a cunning plan by my brother and I as we knew our wives wouldn't be able to finish it (which meant more for us)) this was of course washed down by a gallon of hot tea.......we are a group of bikers after all :-)

After doing what boys and girls have to do, we then stocked up on some of the owners delicious home made flapjacks (which was the 2nd reason we made a bee-line for this place) and headed deeper into the area for a couple more hours.

So thanks for our warming cuppa, and we hope to see you again next Easter.

(Please see my other review for where we had our 2nd stop)

Walking past the tea room we couldn't resist the look of the scones. And they were delicious. We had a reasonably priced cream tea which was just what we needed on a cold and snowy day.
