“1st Class Hotel”

1st class hotel, well run establishment, the most friendly and professional staff who become your friends even during a short stay.Food is the best we have ever eaten, and the area is of natural beauty.Quite honestly, we cannot wait until we return later in the year. Highly recommended.

This hotel has it all. Fantastic location in a beautiful part of the Lake District ; staff that are friendly, courteous and extremeley professional;a restaurant that deserves to be in the Egon Ronay guide for the quality and creativity of its food.
The peace and tranquility was the perfect tonic for two tired souls!(especially after a 12 mile walk).
Our recommendation has to be do not miss out on the experience of staying at this hotel.

The setting is breathtaking and after such a warm welcome I’m pleased to say that everything else about the hotel lived up to this first impression. Our room was delightful and had a wonderful view over the lake and the snow covered hills beyond. The food and the service in the Mirror restaurant couldn’t have been bettered and returning in the morning for a full English breakfast was as much a pleasure as dinner had been the night before.

Unfortunately having had such a wonderful experience we regretted being only able to stay for the one night, but we will certainly be revisiting this delightful hotel in the future.

What a fabulous place. This is a real oasis from the rat race and away from the, sadly, increasing tourist tat of parts of the Lake District.
The hotel is stunning and the welcome, with cosy log fires, superbly comfortable rooms with massive beds is unbeatable. Breathtaking views and beautiful gardens. fabulous food and a great wine list. You seriously could not ask for more. We will certainly be going back this year.

Have stayed at the Linthwaite 3 times in the last 2 years. It is just perfect - the service, attention to detail, the taste and quality of the food, the divine beds and bedlinen.....etc.etc.
However, it is so good that other hotels with higher ratings just do not compare and each time you try somewhere different you just reflect back to your stay at the Linthwaite and wish you had gone there instead.
We are lucky enough to live in the lakes and the evening meals are superb as non residents...the downside is having to drive home and miss the excellent freshly cooked breakfasts!
