I cant fault this hotel and trust me am very fussy when it comes to staying anywhere other than my own house and bed. Me and my husband loved our pre christmas stay here for the 2nd time everything was wonderful and the afternoon tea beats Betty's tea rooms in Harrogate any day! The staff are lovely and do the hotel proud representing it. Thank you Linthwaite see you in March 2014 for another stay before we have our first baby :-) x

Although we were a young couple staying and other guests exceeded our years we still had an amazing trip and would return in a heart beat. Linthwaite House is flawless the only negative we can draw from our stay in the suite was the location of the bedroom at the end of the corridor. Therefore everybody passed our room talking on the way to breakfast and so we heard every door slam therefore this interrupted our sleep.

The suite was amazing with a lake view and a hot tub very scenic and picturesque where we spent most of the afternoon with lots of champagne. The lamb main course was a highlight and the chocolate dessert was probably one of the nicest I've ever tasted. We have also visited Gilpin Lodge which is an equal standard but the food at Linthwaite House stood out for us. After dinner we retreated to the lounge room for more drinks, the log fires were burning, drinks flowing and the ambience was perfect. Would recommend this hotel to anyone of any age.

Thanks very much for your very complimentary review.
R21 the room with the outdoor hot tub is very popular and we're delighted you enjoyed it.
I am especially glad you felt that Linthwaite was a hotel where age doesn't matter.
We get people staying from families through three generations, which we're very proud of. In the end, great hospitality and service is appreciated by everyone regardless of age.
We look forward to being able to welcome you back soon,
Kind regards

We ate Sunday lunch in the elegant dining rooms. Service was impeccable. There were several delicious sounding choices for each course. The beef main was cooked & presented very nicely. The cheese board was delicious, a good selection of cheeses. A vast selection of wines (we tried a few and they were great!)
We will definitely return.

A wonderful welcome again. Room standards about perfect, not a bulb out, mark or scratch. Restaurant even better. If MIke and his team could control the weather, it would even be sunny. This is the standard by which aspiring hotels should be measured. This can only be down to leadership and such a close attention to the smallest detail. Well done to all.

Room Tip: Push the boat out and get the best you can. Worth every penny.

Having just returned home today from our fifth stay (totalling 15 nights over the last 21 months) the hotel just gets better. The staff recognise us and treat us like old friends. Amy and Rebekka in reception are two sweethearts and helped both myself and my partner (as we arrived at different times) to our rooms with our luggage and held open the front door for us on more than one occasion. Andy and Sarah, in the restaurant, have been there on every one of our five visits and always chat away, just like they know us personally. Didn't see Sally this visit, but hope she's doing well. Hope to be back soon, after the winter. Thanks again to all the staff for another unforgettable stay. Craig & Lesley- Ann.
