“Royal Oak and Rumours”
Reviewed February 25, 2013

Stayed in the Royal Oak for 2 nights and ate in Rumours (owned by RO) both evenings - nice room (10) with bay window and breakfast in room, fry up not the best but didnt detract from the stay. Ate in sister restaurant Rumours twice and had probably tastiest pizza I've eaten, knocked spots off Pizza Express etc. Really friendly and accomodating staff in both places, would recommend highly!

“Brilliant pub and a brilliant service”
Reviewed January 30, 2013

The food and the service in this pub is fantastic, you get a warm welcome and you fill a part of the family. The food is so filling me and my partner could just eat three quarters of it. This pub would be a wounderful place for a wedding, romantic dinner or just a good night out.

“Just the place after a freezing cold lake cruise”
Reviewed January 29, 2013

After coming in from the cold following a lake cruise, we were greeted by the friendly landlord and a wall of heat which felt like heaven. We were the only ones in here which was great. Sat next to the roaring open fire with a newspaper or two without a care in the world. I had the Yorkshire Pudding with beef and extras which was satisfying. Played a few games on the English pool table afterwards. When we left, a lovely, cute bulldog was sat with its owners not far from the fire. They sure do things differently in the country, and in some ways, better.

Decent, standard pub food and drink at reasonable prices with a lovely, country atmosphere.
