Stopped off here on the way back from a rainy day out. What a lovely warm welcome from the staff. Thought the food was a little on the pricey side, but it was well worth the money, delicious and nothing left on our plates! Would recommend and would return if in the area again.

Nice pub but quite expensive. Nicely lit outside and a good choice of drinks. Not as friendly as the other bars we visited but we only stayed for the one because of the prices

we stayed in bowness at the weekend and went to the angel on a busy saturday night.my wife and i both ordered the ploughmans. it was wonderful with a lovely mix of beef, ham, pastrami slices with local cheeses, scotch egg pickles and bread and crackers all washed down with a pint of bluebird bitter. even my son's childs pasta was good. all round lovely evening

Good choice of food in a good location. Sometimes get a bit overcrowded but then a lot of people must like it!!!

weve now ate here on a few occasions. the food quality is very good but at times lacks a little imagination. on this occasion i chose steak and ale pie opting for chips as opposed to mash as i cant eat mash! the chips appeared to be frozen, i may be wrong but on past occasions they have been real chips and lush. the last occasion i had the same meal and asked for chunky chips in place of mash of which they charged extra. at almost £12 for pie and mash bowl of green beans only to be charged extra for chunky chips is nothing other than greed! this time i just asked for chips(not chunky, no extra!). we will come back again but possibly just for drinks as the quality of food is good but still lacks stand out selection of meals, fancy designer pricey sandwiches £6-7 . chunky chips £3.50 expensive snack! the chicken ham pie has left the menu which was worth £15 as it was possibly the best i've ever tasted.
