The bar offers a wide range of real ales and an excellent selection of vodkas, beers, brandies, and an extensive wine list with 50 wines from around the globe. In the summer, the Village Inn also launched a new range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic cocktails, which have proved especially popular, in addition to new outside furniture and heaters. The Village Inn Bar and Grill is in the heart of Bowness-on-Windermere, its busy restaurant and bar make it a great place for locals and tourists a like. Come and see for yourself!

Myself, wife her best friend and her two children went for Brunch to this lovely restaurant. We had 4 full English breakfasts and a full English Baguette. Service was great and attentive and the food was well cooked and looked and tasted great. All the elements of a great breakfast were there and of a good quality. The baguette was fresh and very big, too big for my god daughter. The restaurant itself was decorated quite differently with silver painted walls and ceilings and Buddha's everywhere. The chairs and tables were really comfortable and a nice touch was the real fire and church candles lit on every table even at 1130am. It was very clean and welcoming. The staff were very friendly and attentive. The crockery was smart and modern. The only reason I didn't give excellent was the toilets which just didn't reflect the attention to detail and design that the rest of the place has had. Its a shame but dark and dingy toilets in a smart sophisticated venue just aren't right.

Thank you Phil J. It is great to hear that you enjoyed your brunch at the Village Inn.

The decor is one of our pride and joys, so it is great to hear how much you appreciated and enjoyed this. The toilets are re-decorated every 6 months, but unfortunately many people do not treat them like they were their own and cause damage. The toilet area will be receiving a re-furb very shortly.

Have been visiting this Hotel for the past 20 years and it has gone from one of the better eateries with notability to justy another place to eat - its gone from a warm inviting village inn with ambience to a mad house of grey/silver colour that put you off your pint and you canot wait to get out of the premises

We are sorry to hear that the ambience at the Village Inn is not to your liking. Since taking over a few years ago, we have invested a lot of blood, sweat and tears into transforming the premises into the modern, vibrant and very popular destination that it is today. However, we do understand that the vibrancy and electric atmosphere are not to everyone's tastes.

Ended up here two nights in a run because of the party we were with but cannot complain about the meals. Ate well both nights and the atmosphere was lovely both evenings even though one night was busier than the other. The food is really good - better than pub grub but not quite restaurant quality, but the waiting on staff are great. Very attentive without being in your face. Would definitely recommend for good food and nice night out.
