“Buzzing atmosphere, great food!”
Reviewed March 10, 2014

Enjoyed to buzzing atmosphere, the cocktails were good and the food was excellent. It was very busy, clearly due to having such a good reputation, the music was loud.....but to me this added to the buzz. Very good food, quite large portions......I was unable to have a dessert despite the fact that they looked delicious.
We enjoyed a very pleasant evening here.

We look forward to seeing you again - and hopefully managing to squeeze in one of our homemade desserts!

“Very disappointed ”
Reviewed March 10, 2014 via mobile

My girlfriend suggested this place because she had eaten here once before and really enjoyed it. The place itself looks amazing. Love the decor really modern. Also loved the atmosphere in the bar area so I was looking forward to an enjoyable evening, disappointed to say least!

I ordered the French onion soup with cheese croutons. Croutons are supposed to be crispy aren't they? Not soggy cheese on toast? The soup itself wasn't so bad it did have a slight burnt taste it though. My girlfriend ordered the parfait which we soon sent back... Overcooked, crumbly, flavourless. I eat out a lot and this was one if the worst things I have ever eaten. However, she reordered muscles which were lovely...I ordered lasagne, a little dry and a little bland not a total failure but It's lasagne ??? and when your paying 12 quid, you would expect better...my girlfriends chicken was ok.

All in all the food wasn't a total disaster but the service was shocking! We sat at 6.15 and left at 8.10. Not one check back was done and we had one drink all night because nobody seemed interested enough to ask us. My girlfriend tried several times to make eye contact with a waiter but no luck because the heads were constantly down...The couple on the next table had to scream at the waiter to order a drink. Pretty embarrassing!

A real shame because the place has so much potential but the staff are just not interested!

Thank you for your comments. I will take your feedback regarding the cooking of the parfait back to the kitchen, and will discuss the service in an upcoming meeting with all of the staff. In these meetings we will get to the bottom of these issues and ascertain why they have not been dealt with.

Thanks for your great review. So good to hear how much you enjoyed the tasty food, in our clean and vibrant bar and grill. Unfortunately, the one thing we don't have any control over is the parking in Bowness, but as you say there are several large car parks at the lake side.
We look forward to seeing you again soon!

“Great Mains, pud not so good.”
Reviewed March 8, 2014

Called in on a quiet Wednesday night. The food and staff were great. The expensive desert was the only let down, quickly warmed in the microwave with no care for presentation.

Glad to hear how much you enjoyed the freshly made food and friendly service. We are sorry to hear your comments regarding the dessert as we are very passionate about our desserts, with everything being made fresh on site daily and displayed in a fridge in the restaurant so you can see exactly what you are ordering.

“So good we went twice”
Reviewed March 7, 2014 via mobile

We went in after a meal out for a cocktail. The bar man was lovely and funny. My drink was really good. The next night we actually had a meal I have the goat cheese starter as my meal and my partner had the burger. The portions were generous. The same bar man was on again and again was funny. The cocktails were lovely and some of the best I have had. The bar man went and asked the chef if the chocolate mouse was vegetarian and it was. A great place to eat and it was very busy the food only took about 20 minutes from ordering to serving
