Description: The Village Inn is one of Bowness-on-Windermere's most popular bars, situated just seconds from the shores of Lake Windermere and is open daily from 10am until late, serving fresh, locally sourced produce, with homemade pasta dishes and creations from the grill, a speciality. The bar offers a wide range of real ales and an excellent selection of vodkas, beers, brandies, and an extensive wine list with 50 wines from around the globe. In the summer, the Village Inn also launched a new range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic cocktails, which have proved especially popular, in addition to new outside furniture and heaters. The Village Inn Bar and Grill is in the heart of Bowness-on-Windermere, its busy restaurant and bar make it a great place for locals and tourists a like. Come and see for yourself!

Brief visit to Bowness at beginning of June. Called into the Village Inn for couple of pints. We had already eaten, but were wishing we had not, as the food we saw being served looked fantastic. The décor is very modern and very comfortable. Quite different to what we were expecting to see in the village pub. Lovely atmosphere. We were drinking real ale which was fine. Our only negative comment was in relation to service. We had to wait quite a while at the bar to be served just drinks. Whilst there we did notice service generally was slow. It is quite a big place, both inside and out and should probably have more staff on than they had when we visited. We would go back again to try out the food.

This is a lovely place to eat, the portion sizes are huge for a reasonable price the food was delicious and the staff were extremely pleasant. the restaurant was beautifully decorated with luxury in mind. Overall I would highly recommend this restaurant however I would advise you to reserve a table in advance as it can get extremely buys and there could be a waiting list.

The place is modern and has an upmarket feel with wicker furniture and designer touches throughout the restaurant. This gives the place a great atmosphere to dine in. We went and we were told to wait 40 mins because it was busy in June but we were eating within 20 mins and oh my god it was delicious.

I ordered the goats cheese starter which was essentially goats cheese balls in a light batter with a dipping sauce. It tasted so good and was so more-ish I'd argue that it was one of the best starters I've ever been served. Everything was very well presented in addition to tasting great.

This was the best restaurant we went to while staying in Bowness-on-Windermere.

Just been here for lunch and found this place needs some work service wise. Excellent food and well presented I ordered crayfish baguette with fries and my wife ordered egg mayonnaise and bacon baguette with fries. The food here is great and really well presented but the service is dire!! Took a ice age for somebody to come and take the order, they took the drink order and didnt deliver the drinks at all. When the mains arrived they finally realised we had no drinks brought the order over and got the order strong and was missing drinks. Nobody asked us how the food was until after the meal was finished but by then too late. Such a shame as the food here is great. I would give this place a higher score but the service is so bad it really lets itself down.

I ate a couple of lunches and a dinner here on a recent trip to Bowness and can say that the food was very good. The staff were friendly but there just wasnt enough of them. On an evening there were about 3 members of staff to man a bar take food outside to about 30 tables and take orders and service the dinning room. This meant that you struggled to get a drink and had to wait a while for the food. Overall worthwhile for the food especially the crayfish baguette for lunch and the portions are huge.
