“Amazing break”
Reviewed February 26, 2014

Amazing stay at this luxury hotel. Originally booked for two nights but extended our stay as we loved it. Great spacious suite with separate area to relax. The butter mere suite with views that overlooked the lake and was a great sight whilst relaxing in the mornings while enjoying the continental breakfast. Very private accommodation and would highly recommend to anyone. Very polite and helpful staff. Only issue would be the towels that may be an issue in the summer as they are not changed daily. Minor issue but didn't change our views or experience.

Room Tip: Definitely choose the butter mere or the hill top suites for views of the lake.

Spent two nights in the Buttermere suite, for my boyfriends birthday, from the 14th of February and were gutted to have to leave. The lady who dealt with us on arrival and check out could not of been more lovely, and extremely helpful. The suite was perfect, even better than anticipated. Would 100% stay here again, can't fault it.

Just got back from a weekend here and it was fab. We stayed in Cat Bells suite which was a lovely room and brilliant view over the lake. Very nice modern decor, bathroom was lovely too, really good shower. Breakfast is delivered to your door, toast, fruit, yoghurt, cereals, croissants, orange juice and tea or coffee. Very nice, perfect for what we wanted as we'd rather go out and have a lunch instead of a big breakfast. Staff were all really friendly, only downer is in our room we seemed to be in the room housing the boiler in a locked cupboard, so we could hear the boiler often firing up, making loud noises etc, this didn't really bother us, might others though! Overall great place and would definitely stay here again.

Have just spent 2nights here. We had the buttermere suite. Huge rooms with large lounge area. Excellent bathroom with lots of fluffy towels. Modern and uncluttered but with everything you need. Had snow storm while we were there. Fantastic views of the lake from the Juliet balcony. Bet it is gorgeous in warmer weather to sit and sip wine with the doors open. Very nice to have the continental breakfast delivered to your room. Means you can eat in your pj,s and plan the day. We also used the pool/spa at the McDonald hotel. We didn't see any other guests but there are only 6 rooms. So you feel very secluded despite being right in the middle of Bowness. Lots of places to eat and drink nearby, and there is a pub directly over the road. We Ate at Jackson's BIstro and the food was amazing

Room Tip: Some of the suites slightly bigger than others. Our was huge. 5of the 6 have Juliet balconies. Thi...

Just arrived home after spending 3 nights in the Bowness Bay Suites. We really did not want to leave so soon!
For the time we arrived, it was clear that this is a great place with high standards throughout.
We were greeted by the owner( sorry we didn't get her name), she explained everything fully, had our bags taken to our suite, then directed us to the private parking. Also there were handy recommendations for our dinner, with the kind offer to book them for us.
Our suite was the Cat Bells Suite on the top floor. Tastefully decorated and furnished well, inclusive of a fully equipped bathroom( bath and power shower) . Lots of space and light in the lounge and bedroom area, as well as a lake view.
Breakfast was brought to us each morning, consisting of croissant, toast (gluten free for me), cereals, fruit, fresh juice, tea, coffee and yogurts. Cheese came with it each morning and other things varied eggs and ham etc.
It's a very central location in the bay within close proximity of good eateries and pubs selling real ales. Excellent access to walks for all abilities and of course the lake boats etc.
All in all a great place and somewhere to relax. The proprietors should be proud of their efforts to ensure everything spot on!

My fiancé and I stayed the Friday and Saturday 17th and 18th of January.

We had previously stayed at the Bay Suites the previous year. This time we requested to stay in the Buttermere Suite again as we loved it so much.

Upon arrival we were greeted by the owner who is lovely and cannot help you enough.

Again we weren't disappoint the suites are gorgeous and we love that breakfast is brought to your room, we usually miss breakfast staying at most other places!

The bed is the most comfy bed I have ever slept in, it's huge and our sleep was brilliant!

I cannot recommend this place enough and we will definitely be back potentially ending the dales way next year in the luxury of the Bay Suites! Thanks for a lovely stay again!

We booked 2 nights at the beginning of December for our 21st wedding anniversary and was really pleasantly surprised ... our room was absolutely beautiful with a Juliet balcony over looking lake Windermere. The suite itself was very well designed and every comfort thought of from lighting over the dressing table area along with central heating controlled in the room and a flame effect fire. The bed was very comfortable with high quality thread count bedding. The bistro table and chairs next to the balcony was a delight to have our continental breakfast. The hotel itself was perfect location for exploring this pretty part of the world with a walk into the town with a few nice restaurants recommended by our hostess, a very welcoming lady. Many thanks would highly recommend for a romanic weekend away.
