Me and my partner have just returned from a 2 night stay and we loved it. Ann-Marie was brilliant and nothing was too much trouble, she always made time to have a conversation with us and make us feel very welcome. The bedroom was spotless and has everything you needed for a few days in Bowness. It was a little off the beaten track but I liked being away from the hustle and bustle and it was literally a 2 minute walk to bowness through a gate in the back garden. The full English was 1 of the best I've ever had. We will definately be returning and have already recommended people to stay.

We stayed at the Langdale on the 30th & 31st August. We knew the room wouldn't be ready until 4 so we parked the car and went for a wander around town which is literally a stroll away. When we got to the room it was lovely and spacious with lovely big windows and an amazing view! After a good nights sleep we went down for breakfast and i have to say one of the best breakfasts ever which was piping hot. Fabulous choice each day as well. Would we return.. Of course we would! Anne- Marie is lovely and welcoming and takes time to talk to you which is lovely. Highly recommended.

Room Tip: If you don't mind a couple of flights of stairs try the Landgale Room

A party of six, we all had an entirely positive reaction to our three-night stay at the Langdale View. Hosts Paul and Ann-Marie create a particularly warm, upbeat yet relaxing atmosphere. Provision of everything from bathroom requisites to the breakfast menu is generous and of high quality. A first-class stay!

We had a superb stay at Langdale View. It's a wonderful and pretty guest house in a great spot. What made it really special for us was the incredible charm and friendliness of Ann-Marie (and Paul, though he was in the kitchen so we didn't see much of him!) The breakfast room had a pretty view of the garden and the bedroom was very comfy and cheerful. We were part of a larger family party and everyone loved their stay. The rooms were classic, pretty and tasteful and not remotely chintzy or characterless as you often find in some guest houses. The bed was hugely comfy and the room had a tv with in-built dvd player. A library of plenty of dvds was available downstairs. We loved all the considerate touches such as hairdrier, iron and ironing board, a kettle and a really good choice of teas (and even a cookie each, every day!) in our rooms with PROPER milk in a fridge on each landing. We really appreciated that, as being something of a purist when it comes to tea, if it's made with uht, I'd probably have left it. Complimentary toiletries and towels etc all of a high standard. The breakfasts were delicious (HIGHLY recommend those yummy pancakes with fresh fruit) and the combination of having both a buffet and lots of tea and coffee brought to our table in addition to your 'set' breakfast choice was a much appreciated and generous start to the day. We had great fun chatting with Ann-Marie over breakfast, who was lovely, full of great local info and welcoming and has a great sense of humour. I can't imagine anyone not being at ease and very relaxed here! Great value and HIGHLY recommend a stay.

Room Tip: All three rooms that me and my family stayed in were lovely. We stayed in Fairfield - very comfy and...

We stayed for my wife's birthday Thursday till Sunday and enjoyed every minute. Perfect location as the lake is literally 5 minutes from the guest house. Marie and Paul were great hosts. Very warm and friendly and nothing was too much trouble. They have a binder with a selection of walks you can do which we found very handy. A fridge on the landing where they kept fresh milk for your tea and coffee. Also a DVD player in the room with a large selection of DVDs incase it's raining! A very clean with lots of fresh towels etc. Breakfast very nice too. We will definitely be returning. For people reading this review we are in our mid-30's.
Thanks Marie and Paul!

Couldn't fault this place at all. Anne-Mare and Paul were very friendly, humourous and nothing was too much trouble. I had several email conversations with Ann-Marie previously and she responded promptly to my requests. She arranged flowers and chocolates in the room for my partner which were lovely. The room was clean, light and spacious (Langdale room) and was very comfortable. I would definately recommend Langdale View to anyone wanting to stay in this area.
