Langdale View Guest House
Certificate of Excellence
Reviewed April 6, 2011

We had originally booked to go to the Langdale view in February, however unfortunately I took ill and could not make our scheduled booking. Ann-Mary from the Langdale was so understanding and moved our dates forward without hesitation or charge, which she certainly did not have to do. We were so appreciative of this, as that sort of service is rare and we had not even stayed with them yet.

We finally arrived as re-arranged to be greeted with a smile, cup of well deserved tea and cake, freshly baked that day, which was lovely.

The room was lovely, very clean and finished in a smart and contemporary style. The bed is most probably the comfiest bed we have ever slept in. We stayed in the ‘Kentmere’ suite and would definitely choose this suite again, Views over the quaint garden down the lane to the main road and modern en-suite facilities made for a truly enjoyable stay.

The breakfast was second to none with a wide choice available accompanied by tea, toast and an assortment of bought and home made marmalades and jams. We were spoilt for choice.

The location we felt was great, as just a small walk past the private gate took you to the main road and only a stroll away from the shops and bars that bowness have to offer. In terms of our overall stay, be it only two days, which was just not long enough, it was one of the best times we have ever had in the lakes made even better by the Langdale View, who I understand have just one an award for the friendliest guest House in the Lakes, which we can totally understand.

Many thanks to both Ann-Mary and Paul again, your hospitality was second to none and we look forward to seeing you again in the future.

Paul & Katie

Just returned from a wonderful stay at the Langdale view, and can fully recommend this cosy b&b, location is just off the main rd, and close to everything. Ann-marie is the perfect host and cook, nothing too much trouble. We stayed in the kentmere room which looked out on to the main road, although no road noise was experienced as the hotel is about 200 metres back from it. As for eating out, we enjoyed the Emperor indian resturant, the Amore italian's service is a bit slow, Sutherlands was okay. All being well we will be back in June.

Just returned from a two night stay at this lovely B & B. Ann-marie makes you feel very welcome, with a lovely explanation of views from room including Langdale pikes (we stayed in Langdale room) well appointed rooms, incl tea & coffee with fresh milk, hairdryer, iron & ironing board. Breakfasts are lush especially the pancakes with fruit! we ate at 'Jacksons' and villa positano would recommend both (book for villa positano) just as well B & B is uphill a bit so we could work off some of the calories!!

Been coming to this Guest House for the last 5 years and have always enjoyed the stay. In the last 12 months Ann & Paul have taken over the property and totally upgraded it to an excellent spec. The rooms are bright and spotless and the breakfasts are excellent, it feels like home from home and you are made to feel most welcome.
The main reason we like the place is the location. In the town you have all the amenities, shops, restaurant ,bars, cinema and easy access to all the Lakes.
Recommend Jacksons Bistro & Angel Inn for food and drink.

We have just returned from a 2 night stay in the kentmere room.
First and foremost we have stayed in lots of places that are overpriced and cant even get the basics right, this is not the case here.
I'm sure this is not the cheapest b+b around however it is in a great location within few mins slow walk to lovely pub/restaurant and shops and at a real stroll pace, 10 mins max to lake. In addition the standard of bed, pillows, bedding, bathroom facilities and quality of all breakfast items is very high. Ann-Marie is a very attentive host but with a relaxed approach.
Ultimately you get what you pay for and therefore i would consider our stay good value.
I would return again and would happily recommend.

Very welcoming, lovely breakfasts, lovely room. Only a few minutes to walk into Bowness centre with a selection of good eating (but check Trip Advisor for the best). Don't trust your satnav when trying to find it!

The Hotel was a little hard to find and the parking is very tight, this being the first opinion of the hotel had me worried. Once parked up my opinion instantly changed, ann-marie is very welcoming, polite and informative. within minutes we were shown to our room with a full tour and information about our stay in the hotel. the room was beautiful just like the pictures on there website, It was very comfortable and spacious.
To sum up this hotel, Its warm and welcoming in a very relaxed atmosphere with local life within walking distance.
We will be returning in the near future for another relaxing weekend break
