“Lovely meal”
Reviewed June 16, 2013

we popped in after partner's participation in the great north swim so were lucky to get a table on a busy Saturday evening. we were glad we did because we had a lovely meal at a very decent price. The staff could not have been nicer and any more helpful. would recommend this restaurant if you are in Bowness - you won't regret it. our only quibble was that it was styfingly hot, even on a chilly evening.

“Good choice of food and cinema as well!”
Reviewed June 16, 2013

We ate in fat olives over the late May bank holiday. We went for a fixed price meal including a ticket to the cinema opposite. There was plenty of choice even on this menu, and the quality of food and service was very good. Great value if you also fancy seeing a film!

“Fantastic Fat Olives”
Reviewed June 15, 2013

Came all the way to Bowness to celebrate our 4th wedding anniversary with an early evening meal at Fat Olives. Brought our lively 2 year old daughter who was welcomed without any issue. I ate the beef chilli penne pasta and my wife had the butternut squash cannelloni. Both served red hot and were delicious. The little one had sausages and chips from the children's menu. Again superb although quite a lot of food for her to manage (daddy ate the leftovers!). Fantastic service. Probably one of the best places in Bowness to eat.

Came back two days later for a late lunch and had the chicken and chorizo pate with onion marmalade and my wife had the mushroom and Stilton dish - both from the specials. Again faultless and demolished in no time at all.

Fantastic service. Probably one of the best places in Bowness to eat.

“Best Food”
Reviewed June 1, 2013

Went here twice whilst having a few days break, first time we went were told to come back in 10 minutes as there wasn't a table available, but someone had just asked for the bill. Went back and the table was already and waiting for us. Food was lovely, I had a mushroom and tarragon risotto, was really nice. Staff were very pleasant, went back 2 nights later and the standard was just as high.

“Didn't live up to expectations...”
Reviewed May 29, 2013

Having read the reviews, we chose to eat at Fat Olives for one evening of our recent holiday in Bowness. Although there weren't any real problems, we thought the whole experience was very average. Fat Olives lacks atmosphere, the service was fine but the food was nothing special and we came away a little disappointed and will probably not go back. I am quite surprised how high this restaurant figures in the ratings.
