“Best Food”
Reviewed June 1, 2013

Went here twice whilst having a few days break, first time we went were told to come back in 10 minutes as there wasn't a table available, but someone had just asked for the bill. Went back and the table was already and waiting for us. Food was lovely, I had a mushroom and tarragon risotto, was really nice. Staff were very pleasant, went back 2 nights later and the standard was just as high.

“Didn't live up to expectations...”
Reviewed May 29, 2013

Having read the reviews, we chose to eat at Fat Olives for one evening of our recent holiday in Bowness. Although there weren't any real problems, we thought the whole experience was very average. Fat Olives lacks atmosphere, the service was fine but the food was nothing special and we came away a little disappointed and will probably not go back. I am quite surprised how high this restaurant figures in the ratings.

“Our 5th wedding anniversary”
Reviewed May 29, 2013

We celebrated our 5th wedding anniversary on the Friday 24th by collecting a case of our favourite white wine from our favourite Brasserie, Thank you guys and Frank Staintons. On Saturday after lots of sight seeing we finished the day off with a wonderful meal, prepared & cooked by fantastic chefs & team, served up by Shirley & her wonderful staff. It's worth the 342 mile round trip every time. You always make us feel so welcome, the atmosphere is so comforting & your food is to die for. Thank you for making our weekend an extra special one. Mikki & Jeff x

P.S. looking forward to the next one

“Lamb!!!”
Reviewed May 28, 2013

We started with an olive, feta and bruschetta combo. Unusually for the UK all the olives were fresh and tasted excellent. We had a trio of lamb special for our main course, all of which were cooked to perfection with fresh veg. The wine was good value for Windermere. The desserts were great tasting too. Highly recommended.

“Excellent meal”
Reviewed May 28, 2013 via mobile

We had a meal on Sunday 26th may, we booked in the afternoon to be sure we got in. Had mushroom, Stilton balls n chutney it was really tasty then I had a steak cooked just the way I like it! My husband had the ribs and fish cakes again excellent meal! Staff friendly n you could see your food being prepared n then later how well they continued to clean the kitchen till it shone! Loved the meal, we had a wine each, costs £53 which we thought well worth it! Would recommend
