“Nice little restaurant”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 25, 2014

We tried to get a table the previous night but they were fully booked. So we tried again the next night and this time we were successful. However the only table available was right outside the kitchen and was very cramped for room, but we knew this when we booked as the manager said it was the only table they had, so this is not a complaint. The food was delicious and the service was very good. The upstairs waiting/relaxing area is great as are the toilet doors!!

Fantastic value meal early doors - could not fault meal or service. “disappointing”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 24, 2014

To be fair the food here was perfectly acceptable. No complaints. However, the level of customer service lets Postilion down badly. We pre-booked, for early evening, a week before our visit. The booking was accepted. On the day, having finished our main course, the waiter asked if "we could do him a favour"!! Would we be kind enough to have our pudding upstairs on a comfortable sofa with a lovely ambience!! Putting customers on the spot like this is not the way to go! Feeling under pressure we agreed and passed the people waiting for our table on the way up the stairs!! The upstairs ambience was NOT how it was sold, we balanced our pudding on our knee on an old sofa and were completely forgotten by waiting staff (we had to find them to ask for the bill, find them to ask if we could share our concerns with management and then find them to pay.) It feels like customers/tourists are rushed in and out here, profit is everything through table turnover. This restaurant could be special but they need a huge rethink about how to treat paying guests.

“Great little place”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 23, 2014 via mobile

We were the first people in on the night and shown to a nice little table by the window.

Waiter was very attentive and knowledgeable about both the food menu and wine list.

Both of us had the three courses for £17.95 and were thoroughly impressed with all three courses.

The other half had the butternut squash soup which was a large portion but very flavoursome, her main was the pan fried chicken breast which I was prefecrly cooked and her sticky toffee pudding was the 'best I've ever had'.

My starter of Greek parcels was a nice surprise and enjoyed it more than I thought I would, lovely flavours. My main if Three Little Pigs was lovely, the pea and cheese mash was a bit different but went great with the chorizo and sausage. My dessert of brownie with salted caramel ice cream was the highlight. The brownie was warm and googey and the ice cream was a nice, diffednr flavour. One thing I would say is that I couldn't really taste the peanut brittle that was listed on the menu but even so it was great.

I've seen negative reviews posted about the same night we went and I must say that those people must have royalty level high standards to find as many faults as they did.

Would definitely go again and recommend it to anyone who I knew was going to the area.

“Superb............”

We have had a superb dining experience tonight. Service was excellent as was the food. The Cumberland Eggish (Scotch Egg) was amazing as were the cod steak and beef beef bourguignon main courses. As for the sticky toffee pudding ............
