“Bustling Italian”

We tried to book a table but they do not take bookings and just seat you as you come. Not a problem we called in and luckily got a super table in the window, service is very friendly, food good.

“Good atmosphere and service”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 8, 2013

Bowness is not short of places to eat and Rumours Pizzeria is a place that we'd happily revisit. The atmosphere was relaxing, complemented by very good service from our waitress, Eva. The black and green (mixed) olives that we selected as an appetiser were tasty and substantial enough for two to share but would have benefited from being drained off before being served. We chose to have two pizzas and share them, one being Mediterranean and the other an Inferno. The Mediterranean came with anchovies but these were complete rather than the filleted saltier anchovies in oil that we far prefer. The Inferno was tasty but its heat, whilst definitely there, was more akin to a gentle blaze than an inferno! A reasonable wine list yielded a tasty Valpolicella that went down very well with our meal.

“Great food and service”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 30, 2013

Came here during our wedding anniversary visit to Windermere- lovely little find with authentic Italian food, attentive and friendly service. It was like someone had transported me to a little restaurant in Italy, you forget when you walk out that youre in Northern England! Lasagne was lovely and also had one of the best red wines ever! Atmosphere was busy and buzzing, service was friendly, we had a lovely waitress who was chatting to us often. Recommended!!

Really loved the food, the service and atmosphere. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The menu had plenty of variety without being too large. Prices were reasonable and good value.

Highly recommended

“Fairly decent Italian restaurant”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 21, 2013

When we visited Bowness-on-Windermere last year we tried to visit here but it was so busy and we had to go somewhere else. We made sure on this visit that we came here. It was really quiet this time and the staff were lovely. I ordered a margarita pizza with spicy chicken and my husband got a ham and pineapple pizza and we got chips to share. The pizzas were a decent size and they had a nice crust and weren't too thin which I like (but I didn't think the chicken was that spicy) and the chips were lovely as well. We both enjoyed the meal and it was a fairly decent price, around £10 for a pizza and £2.50 for the chips I think. Would definitely visit again on our next trip to the Lakes.
