The food here was a real disappointment, on the last evening of our weekend stay in Bowness we decided on a takeaway. we opted for the seafood starter for two people which consisted of 4 rubbery fishcakes and vegetable spring rolls!, this cost £13.50, also we ordered a duck dish which was also disappointing with lack of meat and too much coconut and not as advertised, lastly we had the chicken yellow curry which was also much the same as a regular thai red curry and again unimpressive. the cost came to £35.00 in total. I would not visit this restaurant again or suggest it to any visitors to Bowness.

Excellent food in a great atmosphere at the very popular Jintana. It pays to book in advance to avoid disappointment.

My fiancé & I ate here on the 27 October. We chose here as we LOVE Thai food & had been recommended by the owners of the B&B we were staying at (The boundary).

The restaurant was really busy which is always a good sign! We had booked a table at 7.45pm. We were quickly asked if we wanted a drink so we had two singha beers & a bowl of Thai prawn crackers (the ones we love!). We had already decided what we wanted as we had read the menu online before we came (we were that eager!).

We both ordered the same thing, whilst this sounds boring we didn't need to share ;) We ordered the chicken gai satay for starter & a pork red curry each. We also ordered a side of Thai jasmine rice each. Everything was cooked to perfection.

We decided to order a desert each. I asked for coconut ice cream but had ran out. So instead I ordered mango sorbet which was delicious. My fiancé had lychees & vanilla ice cream. Again this was yummy!

The bill came to a total of just under £60 - this included 2 beers, crackers, starter, main & desert each.

We had a lovely meal & it's a shame it is not closer to home! I would definitely recommend a visit if you are in the area.

Had a meal here 2 weeks ago. I am coeliac which can make eating out awkward and embarrassing. The staff at Jintana were very knowledgable -advising me of the gluten free options without any fuss. The food was gorgeous. Atmosphere very calm and relaxing. Staff very friendly. We loved it. Will def be back. Xx
