“Favourite one in the village.”
Reviewed November 18, 2012

Picked up tea here last night for the kids and it was very busy. The staff aren't as friendly as the old lot, but the fish and chips are still very good. The fish is very, very good and I have learnt not to have it doused in vinegar ;) Curry sauce and gravy always delicious too. Wouldn't go anywhere else.

“Good chips - shame about the fish.”
Reviewed October 5, 2012

During a recent stay at Bowness we decided to have a fish dinner from Seafarers. Takeaway is clean, service was prompt. Prices reasonable considering the location. The Wife & i opted for Fish, Chips & Mushy peas. Good amount of chips received, mushy peas tasty - only disappointment was the small fish size & the quality of the fish.

“Do not eat the chips”
Reviewed August 27, 2012

Anybody who has eyes would do well to look behind the counter at the transparent boxes of half cooked chips in this place! Despite this, we did order and the fish was excellent although the chips were greasy and very undercooked. I remain horrified by the sight of the chips sitting in an ambient temperature (and presumably providing a great breeding ground for germs) and am staggered the owners are still allowed to operate. The fish IS great but please, please don't order the chips!

“You can do better for food in batter ......”
Reviewed August 19, 2012 via mobile

Went on 6 th August, and the place is clean and it looked busy, which is usually a good sign.Big disappointment was waiting ,asking for a plaice and a cod and being told they only had fish - could not get out them what type of fish. Normally have two large portions of chips between four of us, but not this time. Portions of scampi were similarly on the small size. Only thing that is not small is the prices - at least the food was ok, but overall would not go again - perhaps they do not mind as most customers in August are tourists so will not comeback anyway.

“Chips are amazing”
Reviewed August 12, 2012

We stayed in a cottage and I'd made home made chilli and fancied some chips to go with it...they were stunning... so much so the chilli was left for my boyfriend and I had chip buttys for dinner.
At first it seemed expensive however in comparison to area it's not - you get loads in the £2.45 portion.

Family visited and we all had a meal from here - everyone really enjoyed...

We stayed close by and it was always busy and made you hungry just walking past... we were advised to try here by Lakelovers staff who said the locals go here

Gutted it didn't open past 10pm though as fancied them after a Saturday late night
