We went last year in April and we were very impressed
Went again in February arriving at 5.55pm and were told to come back in 10 minutes and if we wanted a table for 7 people it would have to be set up
We returned to find we were the only people in there and setting up the table required 3 tabble be pushed together which did not seem to be a major task
Two of the main meals did not match the menu.Grilled prawns with garlic were served in a peculiar sauce and could have been described as shrimps and the pasta was tasteless. The childrens meals which came off the main menu were good
When ordering wine we were informed there was only red white or rose haouse wine; we chose red and was surprised to get Blossom Hill not the quality we received the previous year
The second bottle was the same but when we ordered the third we were given a choice of wines

The bill for 4 adults and 3 children came to in excess of £150 We paid a similar amount at The Village Inn and the standard was very much better

Called to book a table and that's as far as I got so I can't review the food.
Had a taste card that clearly was labeled on the website i could be used on a Saturday night. Upon trying to book a table for 7 people the booking was accepted until I mentioned I had taste card 2-4-1 and then they hung up on me!!!
I called back to ask why the person hung up on me. They said they would not take the booking.
7 paying guests at last minute all drinking wine?
Thought we were in a recession!!!
Looking at the reviews on trip advisor now I am GLAD I did not book. No wonder your only 30th ranked in Bowness - you deserve to be, your service is shocking!!!!
