Fairfield Garden Guest House
Certificate of Excellence
Reviewed November 13, 2011

Stayed here for a couple of nights in early November in one of the Premium Rooms and could not fault it. Friendly welcoming reception (even though we arrived earlier than anticipated), spacious and extremely well appointed room with four poster bed and lovely bathroom.
Very quiet location that could hardly be bettered, turn left and 100m down the hill into busy bustling Bowness with eateries to cater for most tastes and pockets, turn right and find lots of pleasant low-level walks up onto Brant Fell or along the Dales way.
Didn't make use of the Garden but can see it must ideal to wind down in after a hard days walking during warmer weather.
My wife and I are not 'full English' breakfasters but fellow residents who were, seemed more than happy with what was on offer.
For a stay in the Windermere/Bowness area Highly Recommended.

We stayed for a weekend in October and were very pleased with the accommodation. Brand new bathroom which was lovely and a four poster bed. The breakfast on both mornings was excellent and the waiter, Victor, was a great asset - lovely man. Fairfield is right in the centre of Bowness which was great. The owners are lovely people and only too willing to help in any way. Would stay there again. Thank you

Our thanks to the guests for their nice comments. It is nice also that the tranquility is one of the advantages of the little hill between the village and us. It is worth the puff! Thanks Tony

The staff was pleasant and accommodating. Recently renovated bathroom was excellent. Able to upgrade to a four-poster inexpensively upon our arrival since it wasn't reserved. Location is quiet, though walking up the hill from Bowness center is not for the faint at heart. Would stay there again if we return to Bowness. Stayed 4 nights.

We left our car here to start with while we walked part of the Dales Way and were offered a welcome tray of tea while we waited for our taxi. Then arriving back 3 days later we were made equally welcome with well apppointed rooms and delicious breakfasts. All very clean and warm. Good value and highly recommneded.

We booked a room as an anniversary treat and, because of all the wonderful reviews we'd read on trip advisor and laterooms. Our first impressions were really good until we were taken to our room. It was tiny and we were really disappointed not to have been offered an upgrade that was part of the package when we booked through laterooms. We only stayed the one night so didn't complain. The room should have been a single. Our view from the window was the car park. We've stayed in lots of hotels but have never had a room so small. The breakfast was good but don't think we'll stay again.

Room Tip: Don't stay in room 8, very tiny and you look out onto the car park

We have been to Bowness-on-Windermere a few times but hadn't come across this guest house before as it is tucked away from the hubub. Now that we have found it we wouldn't think twice about coming back. We only stayed for 1 night but found it great. From the warm friendly welcome to the delicious breakfast, we couldn't have asked for more. We stayed in the four-poster room with the great shower. The massage stone floor and the body jets sure got you ready for a day in the lakes.

Being tucked away is an advantage that we are happy to share. Having our own parking is a god send being so close to the town. Thank you for yor kind words.
