“Perfect 5 Star Weekend.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 21, 2011

Have just returned from a Weekend stay at The Cranleigh.
My wife and i were taken there by some close friends to celebrate my 70th birthday.

What a Hotel this was, perfect in every way. We stayed in Room 8 and we were not at all upset by this room.
It was clean, spacious full of information on what was available in the area with good advice on where to eat, drink and enjoy your stay.

The staff were pleasant at all times, helpful when they needed to be and in the background in case they were needed. The food was all and more you would expect with the best breakfast i have had in a long time.

Thank you to all at the Cranleigh for helping to make it a birthday to remember.

Room Tip: Just view each room on the website, choose your price and i am sure you will not be disappointed

We booked TheCranleigh for our anniversary having seen the good reviews and we were not disappointed. The room luxuriously furnished, comfortable and snug, the only critism would be the lack of wardrobe space. The bathroom was excellent with large shower, spa bath complete with tv to watch, the toiletries were of a high standard and replaced daily. A nightly "turndown" service made it feel like a luxury 5* hotel. I would definitely recommend The Cranleigh for that personal touch.

Room Tip: Check out the video tours although it's a tough decision they all looked fabulous

Location is perfect for Bowness, Lake Windermere and nearby restaurants.
Rooms are all amazing but the Sanctuary is the best in the Lake District. Incredible bathroom with a TV, and an outdoor hot tub. Great attention to detail everywhere. Perfect for a romantic weekend. The staff are lovely and the rates are great value. No restaurant but breakfast was gorgeous. Lovely local sausages and bacon.

This was quite a last minute trip mid week to the Lake District, I normally stay at Gilpin Lodge further out but wanted to try the Cranleigh due to its location and for a change.

Every part of the experience from booking to check in and even check out was painless. The staff are very service orientated and nothing is too much trouble.
The hotel in general was vey clean and well presented.

The room itself - The Sanctuary is amazing the Bose sound with iPod dock and DVD is great it’s not the first time I've stayed in this type of room as you will see from the other hotels I’ve reviewed, but this does deserve praise. The attention to detail in the room is fantastic from the remote ceiling blinds to the lighting in the bathroom.

Food wise we only had breakfast which was served in the room excellent choice and delivered piping hot.

I'm quite precious over where I leave my car and they accommodated this fantastically

Will we stay there again – 100% yes

A clean, well presented, quality hotel coupled with very helpful, friendly and approachable staff - made our stay in one of the luxury rooms and (a lovely surprise one) in the Sanctuary an enjoyable one. If you just need somewhere to lay your head or be fed warmed up breakfasts then don't stay here.....if you want to be treated like their own special guests, shrouded in luxury finishes, enjoy freshly cooked breakfasts to your liking served by extremely polite staff and most importantly to us (who aren't posh or pompous, don't drive the most expensive car in the driveway or ever pretend to be better than anyone else) experience a 'home from home' atmosphere. All staff (and I think we met Barbara, the owner on our last day, yesterday) were obviously trained to a very high standard, but also shared a passion to endeavour to deliver the very best quality of care whilst you get on with what was for us, a very enjoyable and relaxing stay. We could mention the central location, beautiful and lavish decor, the state of the art bathroom, all important hot tub, spa bath, real log fire, mood lighting, internet access, ipod dock......but the list is enless!!!! We also enjoyed the spa passes at the Old England hotel just a short stroll down the road. I don't know if the staff would remember us again on our return but we will definately be back, as this was a break for us to remember!!!

Room Tip: If you want a truely special stay, the Sanctuary is exactly that. Luxury fittings, hot tub, mood li...
