“Cozy Country Inn”
Reviewed October 3, 2013

We found this inn searching on hotels.com and we are very glad we did! It was exactly the atmosphere we were looking for in the countryside of the UK. The room, bar and breakfast room were very charming and served excellent food. The staff were kind, warm and helpful.

Chose this hotel after reading very poor reviews about the one we were originally booked into. My daughter and I wanted a location close to Monkey Forest and this was perfect. The service and welcome were amazing. We had a fabulous evening meal and breakfast. Staff were very friendly and extremely hard working. Nothing was too much bother for them. would highly recommend this hotel

Room Tip: We had room 1 which overlooked the garden. nice decor and very quiet.

This hotel is in a lovely setting and is clean and functional. But should really be priced at 70 a night. Nothing wrong at all, just a bit pricey. Breakfast very nice and quiet all night. I would come again if the price was better, or perhaps include dinner.

Spent two nights, rooms are away from the pub - dining area, but close to function rooms. Check you are not staying on a function night as they are noisy and late! Bar is nice although locals hog the small bar area making getting served a tad challenging. Our evening meal after being told that all the specials and indeed most of the main meals were not availalbe anymore, was steak, although it was good.
Rooms are clean, bath very slippy and no mat to prevent a tumble.

Room Tip: Rooms overlooking car park noisy

Called in on Sunday 30 June 2013 at 4.15pm in the afternoon. We selected the cream tea for two. We waited and waited for service. The girl serving was doing a good job ignoring us. If we were expected to go to the counter to give our order they should put better signs up. As no service was given we left, never to return.

Slater's provided the ideal venue for our daughter's 'Wedding Breakfast' and subsequent 'Hog Roast' evening party.
The key to Slater's success starts with their wedding planning service. This is expertly run by their Wedding Co-ordinator who you will find fully responsive to all requirements and more than able to contribute useful suggestions and insights for your 'big day'. Nothing is too much trouble.
A particular attraction and real bebefit of this location and venue is its proximity to the M6 for those coming from far away and the mix of facilities available. Slater's, combining as it does, hotel accommodation, a delightful wedding suite with a licence for civil services, a marquee offset with manicured lawns and gardens and a pub restaurant: what more could any guest want?
Customer care and quality are at the heart of everything that Slater's does and certainly from our experience, the staff at Slater's were attentive to and satisfied all our needs. Peace of mind from start to finish.
Prospective fathers of the bride need look no further than Slater's and I recommend this delightful venue to you all!

We stayed one night and had a look at the Arts and Crafts centre. We also visited the tea rooms which was not very exciting. So best leave that one. In the hotel, our lunch was very good and the staff were excellent. Polite and helpful. When we went to book in, the disabled room that we were shown had all the handles etc, but the shower was over the bath and I would have had difficulty getting into it. But the receptionist suggested another room in the older part of the building. This was a suite with two rooms and suited us admirably. When asked the receptionist said that this suite was more expensive but she would only charge us for the original room which I thought was very generous. This is the type of service which goes down well with us. That evening we dined int the bar and had a lovely meal. The staff were once more attentive and prompt with our order. Breakfast the following morning was equally as good. I cannot praise the staff enough. So if you want a good meal with good service, then go to Slater's.
