fire doors permanently propped open making it, in my professional opinion, the most dangerous hotel I've stayed in recently, I don't rate anyone's chances if there is a fire. heater in the room was not adequate for British winter time, each time I turned the heating up on the control panel it would only stay there about 10 minutes before clicking back to 18 degrees so take extra clothes and/or blankets. Bed was comfortable, breakfast was reasonable. Adjoined restaurant wa a Taybarn, probably great if you have young children but VERY noisey, buffet food was schoold dinner standard but cheap, I'd recommend driving further down the A34 for better food options.

This is a typical Premier Inn experience although the décor and furnishings are of the older standard (shower in bath etc) - but very clean and comfortable as you would expect with very friendly and helpful staff. I do wish Premier would provide two comfortable chairs in double rooms when watching TV.

The attached restaurant is a Tay Barn (Tally Ban!) which is an absolutely dreadful experience! OK it gives choices of a wide variety of meals but my fried fish was not cod or haddock but the really cheap, soft and slimy Vietnamese river fish. From that I deduced that all raw ingredients are the cheapest possible. The noise was cacophonous and the atmosphere was of children and young adults in a feeding frenzy.

Our room had not been cleaned properly and our 6 month old son cut his foot on broken glass that had not been hoovered up from the previous occupier. The staff were great and moved us, but that room was not very clean (dusty) and like our first room had just had a quick going over. I found this hard to take as they knew a baby was going in to the room as we requested a cot. Very disappointed with the hotel but the staff were the only plus point of our stay!

Some time ago I booked 20 rooms for my sons wedding this weekend. From my first dealings with the reservation staff to checking out the staff were all very pleasant and helpful. The rooms were clean and large, more tea bags and milk would be good. My son left named gift bags to be put in each room and this the staff did happily. We'll done premier Inn Newcastle under Lyme

Stopped here as for Christmas on route to Leek. Staff very friendly & helpful. If you want more tea bags just ask as only 2 in room!. Classic stay for premier where room clean & comfy. I like the fact don't have to check out till 12 pm, which can be handy if don't want to rush.
We had a good value evening meal at the next door Taybarn. Decided to also have breakfast in the same place ( it is connected to premier) but lots of noisy children as they do free breakfast for them. Possible that if picked different time could avoid that.

Room Tip: we had room 74 at the front & couldn't hear much, even missed hearing all the gales

This is the fourth time we have stayed at this particular Premier Inn as we come to visit family. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Room was warm and comfortable. Would recommend this Premier Inn. It has a Taybarn restaurant where you can have your evening meal and breakfast

My wife and I stayed here for a night whilst visiting part of the family pre Christmas. The hotel was handy for us a we needed to be at this end of The Potteries, but beware that the hotel is on a one way dual carriageway so a big detour is needed if going by taxi to Newcastle centre.
On arrival the car park was busy due to the attached pub serving meals and having Christmas parties, but there were still over 10 spaces available, and free of charge. Check in has to be done at reception as there isn't a machine at this hotel. The staff were friendly and informative.
The room was comfortable to the Premier Inn standard, and the free wifi for 30 minutes a day meant I could see the football scores on the first day, and check my emails before departure on the second, much appreciated. The room has tea/coffee making facilities but only gives a small amount of milk, so if you prefer a milky brew, ask for more on arrival as it will save you a trip back down to reception at a later point.
In our case the hotel was a good base to visit the family, however, it could be a bit too far away for people who need to be in the centre. The rooms were of a good standard and we slept well.
