Holiday Inn Stoke on Trent M6
Reviewed September 15, 2013

Stayed at this property for one weekday night on our way further north up the M6 - 2 adults, 1 child, paying £99 b&b in an executive room. All public areas inside and out were clean and well presented and there was plenty of parking. All the staff we encountered were polite and friendly and there were no issues checking in or out.

Our room was a fair way from reception - quite small, but OK for our needs. The bed area had a double and sofa bed and had a modern clean feel to it, including a large flat screen TV, laminate flooring and a wooden sliding screen at the window. The bathroom was older, but clean and functional.

Most importantly, we had a quiet night's sleep without any of the usual door slamming etc. The double mattress we had was a touch on the firm side, but rather that than rolling in to each other.

My wife and daughter used the leisure centre and found it really nice. Not wanting a big meal, I decided to go in search of snacks and found a 24 hour Tesco within a 3 minute drive, by following the road back to the M6 and turning left towards Stoke. There was also a Chinese takeaway and some fast food joints along there.

Breakfast was good, with a nice buffet serving hot and cold items.

All things considered, a good stay and we'd have no problem booking here again.

Stayed here after a long drive and a late check in. The check in was a chore and took ages. Probably a computer glitch but still really frustrating. The public areas are nice but the rooms are small and old fashioned. Everyone was friendly but it didnt feel that well organised.

The bathroom particularly was poor with an ancient stained tub and the tiling and grab rails looking worse for wear. Wifi was pretty hopeless ( slow as well). It was cheap but I'd rather pay a few pounds more and have a modern room.

Breakfast was good and plenty of servers around to clear tables. The ususal HI buffett which is fine.

I'd think twice before booking again.

Room Tip: 19 is small but I think they all are.

Recently stayed here in a standard double room. Hotel is handy for the m6 although is a little bit out the way for eating out or just general things to do nearby.
Room was small but perfectly useable space. Bed was rather soft and had that "roll together" problem! Room and bathroom were very clean and housekeeping were in daily just neaten up the bed a bit and empty bins.
We chose to eat out of an evening so can't comment on evening meals/Menus but we did have breakfast which was excellent. Large selection on offer and everything neat and tidy.
Staff at the hotel were very helpful and friendly.
A slight disappointment was the pool area-rather small and large windows mean you are on view.
Overall a nice hotel which maybe needs a bit of redecoration but the staff work hard and keep everything clean and tidy. Would use again.

The hotel was clean and tidy, the Reception staff very friendly in arrival.
A long walk to our room along endless corridors. There was a lack of any information on meal, breakfast times or other hotel information etc. We had to ask at reception about meals. The menu was the same wherever you ate ie in your room, the bar or the restaurant! Just different prices.
The location was very handy for where we were visiting apart from that not a very appealing venue.

Check in was quick and easy. The room was a bit cramped but bathroom had a shower over bath. Running a bath was really quick as the water pressure was so high. Be careful of the hot tap as the water is boiling hot. The food was good both evening meal and breakfast. The staff were really friendly and helpful. If I had a choice I would use this hotel again. There is no bus stop near the hotel but a ten minute walk to the top of the hill and turn right on the roundabout you will find a bus stop that is a ten minute jouney by bus to
Newcastle under lyme bus station.

We stayed here for one night, a very warm welcome, clean rooms and comfortable bed. Had room service of evening snack and wine, very good. Room was very clean and comfortable, with telephone, tv with access to order films at an extra cost but reasonably priced.hairdryer and complimentary toiletries. Had a comfortable nights sleep. Breakfast was very good with good choice of breakfast. Can highly recommend the Holiday Inn for an odd nights stay.

Room Tip: Advice when booking to request a quiet room as some rooms can be noisy on corridors
