“It's where we eat in Newcastle”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 11, 2012

If we are in town and want to eat during the day Rubens is the place to go. They do a large range of sandwiches with a nice salad but I prefer the hot food. The Japanese Noodles is my favourite but you can get other hot food. The food is different to other venues in town much more modern. Recently they have started charging extra on the breakfast menu when asked for after 11.30am which I am not impressed with.

“Breakfast saturday”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 3, 2012

We often meet here on a Saturday morning for coffee or occasional breakfast.
Its a very fashionable cafe that spends most of its time full with a good cross section of clients.
The food is nice , modern but not too overwhelming .. there are occasions when its success can be slightly inconvenient in as much as it gets noisy. so pay attention or you wont hear what your thinking about. All in all its very good.....see you on saturday..

“Only tell your best friends...”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 30, 2012

I'm reluctant to publicise this too much 'cos to over-populate my favourite Newcastle coffee shop might mean I can't find a seat...but this for me is THE place to stop. Coffee, food, atmosphere; what else could you want?

“stylish daytime eating”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 30, 2012

There's always a great atmosphere in this High Street coffee shop come restaurant. Pop in for a coffee or breakfast, lunch or afternoon tea. It serves great sandwiches, home made soups and delicious cakes. You can sit alone and read the paper or watch the world pass by, or maybe meet friends for lunch and chat.
