“very disappointing meal.”

After reading the reveiws on the net, we decided to try fish n fritz for a change from our regular fish n chip restaurant in weymouth. What a mistake!! so disappointed, the meal was cooked in old fat and we could taste, and smell the grease, the fish was o.k...the batter was awful, so greasy, also the chips have got to be the worsed we have been served in many years, small, soft and soaked in old oil ! most distatesful, however the curry sauce was nice, so was the tea which was apprieciated to take the greasy taste away. The bill came to £20.20...I refused to pay for the plateful of nasty chips that we left.On the way home I had to stop off at morrisons for a packet of rennies for the heartburn I was suffering for most of the night. What a waste of money!!

“Food OK, but we waited for AGES.......”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 23, 2012

We arrived on a Wednesday evening at 7pm, there was a couple of people waiting for takeaway, and only a few tables filled in the restaurant. A waitress took our order and brought drinks quite quickly, but after that we waited... and waited... and waited. No-one came to re-assure us, or inform us of a delay. When we asked, we were told our food was just being plated up - and then we waited another 10 minutes. I then asked a man in the takeaway section, and he told me the same thing - with no smile, he was almost rude in his manner.
Our food eventually arrived after more than 30 minutes - while takeaway customers had been served and fish was ready in the counter.
What does it take for a smile and bit of courtesy? We wouldn't have left feeling dissatisfied if the staff had treated us better. The food was pretty good - not the best or worst I've tasted, but I would not recommend or return because of the terrible customer service.

“Wonderful fish and chips”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 11, 2012

We went twice in two weeks, both times take away. The first time was early evening when they were not busy yet, which in many places can mean your food has been sitting for a while. But we had 4 fish and chips between 7 (3 adults, 4 children) and they were fresh, not greasy, hot and generous. The second time we popped in for a treat (got to do it sometimes at the seaside!) early afternoon and ordered one large fish and chips between us. It was absolutely huge, freshly cooked for us, and both the fish and the chips were delicious. It just doesn't compare with the soggy offerings from many other establishments - why can't they all be like this? Wish I lived near enough to Weymouth to go every week :) We took away to the park by the fairground to eat, or you can sit by the harbour wall - would avoid the beach itself because of the rather aggressive seagulls.

“GREAT HOLIDAY FOOD”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 27, 2012

As we were at the seaside we thought we should have fish and chips for tea one night, we decided to take away so we could sit on the prom but you could eat in.

Lovely fish and chips with great batter, my fish was freshly cooked which obviously made it tastier. The prices were comparable with our chip shop back at home.

There are lots of chip shops in Weymouth but this one is worth a visit.
