Spent two nights in the hotel. Rooms look nice on the surface but beds are really hard. Original metal windows remain which cause condensation problems and original doors are draughty. The sides of shower base were covered in black mold, as was the drain trap.
The eggs, bacon, sausage etc at breakfast were not replenished fast enough causing constant queues. The plates were cold and the food wasn't kept sufficiently hot. The dining tables were laid out in rows so getting in and out of your seat when someone was sat behind you caused problems.
There were only bar meals available for dinner as there was no chef to provide proper meals.
There were weddings taking place both evenings of our stay so an early night was out if the question.

We stayed here for 2 nights from the 13th, when we arrived in weymouth about 2pm we decided to ring the hotel to see if there is any chance we could check in earlier, the girl was very rude
, But told us no without even asking us the room number we was staying in or even our name, when we went back at 4 the lady was very friendley and helpful, our room was very very nice, the lady at reception then showed us the taxi servce to use, unfortunately we couldnt use our car as there was weddings and the car park was packed so we didnt want to have to worry about having no were to park. The shower wouldnt go cold, it was bolling hot at all times and the room would not cool down.
we had breakfast both days and wws loverley, the second day the girls was to busy chatting to come and ask for hot drinks and toast, when she finally come back we tried to get her attention as she only brought tea without milk, she was again to busy chatting so we had ti gi over to her. Apart from that we loved our stay and would deffiantly come back again :)

Went to the hotel on the 5th Sept for 5 night stay with family, rooms were not ready at 3pm so had to wait until 20 past 3. Location of hotel is really good if you get a front facing balcony room great views, room was of a very good modern standard with fridge and 32" flat tv on wall. Now for the bad points, the resturant was only open the first night and you had to wait for a member of staff (which they had not many) to show you to a table, the resturant/dining room is where you also have your breakfast prob only holds about 60 people so when hotel is full you have to que up to get a seat! Lucky we didnt have to wait long, food was only bar menu due to having one chief so we was told. One of the meals was a burger and chips burger bun burnt to a crisp and a burger that looked like a meatball, complained and got it taken off the bill and got a free round of drinks. Didnt go back in evenings for meals just as well it was shut for the rest of the holiday with a sign up saying only open for breakfasts. We ended up finding a good cavery down the road and went there every eve for meals. Breakfast time sometimes you had to que up and wait again to be shown to a table, breakfast is of the buffet type style in hot plates if you want a decent egg ask or they will be solid through standing around, toast was warmed up bread and after the 4th morning they actually done it properly, a few cereals to choose from and yogurts jams which dont get filled up very quick as not enough staff. Room was done everyday except sat when a wedding reception was taking place so its a case of forget the paying guests and all hands on deck to cater for wedding, the weddings are done in a ballroom upstairs which was empty all week as most prob dont know its there. As a wedding was on loads of kids running up and down hallways anoying holidaymakers. Alas no new tea/coffee milks loo rolls or towels that day. Water in shower and sink rarely hot in room. Swimming pools are good inside and out and a small gym area with sauna and steam room, although half the lockers didnt work so lots of people where just leaving stuff in a bag in changing rooms. Basicly its a great location, rooms are of a very good standard but the hotel is let down by being understaffed and badly managed.I would expect most people wont stay there again.

Room Tip: Was in rooms nearest the sea 216-229 are the best rooms upstairs.

Just got back from a four night stay.
An very nice hotel. The staff were friendly and accommodating with requests for extra towels. the room was clean and suited our needs as we wanted to be out and about as much as possible.
The breakfast was excellent, tasty and plenty of it.
Although there was no a la carte menu for the duration of our stay the bar meals provided were
great and to be honest I would prefer that type of meal anyway.
The leisure facilities in the hotel were fine and that was part of my reason for booking this hotel in the first place.
Weymouth is a brisk walk away along the beach, difficult for the less mobile, but the bus stop into town is just outside the hotel.
I would certainly recommend this hotel and will be booking in the future.

Arriving at the Riviera it looked stunning as we went down the hill ,especially as heat wave on.
We then where given keys to back of hotel rooms,in a separate building which turns out to be the old chalets of a former holiday camp, yes beautiful inside spotlessly clean, but small and we could here the person next door talking our outlook was on a grassy bank occupied by at least 15 Rabbits.
We complained and asked to be moved into main hotel deputy manager had not even the decency to come out of her office just telling the young recepionist we would have to pay another £52 Two Nights stay to upgrade.Main hotel was great pool outside and in .We travelled a long way and we were really disappointed ,We were not the onl;y ones to complain.

Room Tip: Do not go to back of hotel, pay extra to go to main building we would have booked rooms on front if...

We had heard good things about the restaurant in this hotel so decided to book for the Friday evening - we went for coffee in the morning only to discover that there was a notice on the restaurant door saying closed for two nights (Thursday and Friday) due to unforeseen circumstances. These circumstances turned out to be a wedding (unforeseen????)
However, they were serving coffee and would be open on the Saturday (not our preferred choice of day) so we ordered coffee and booked for 7pm the next evening.
It was a bad sign that the boy serving behind the bar had to keep going into the kitchen to get first a saucer, then milk, then a cup, then...... well you can imagine.
The girl took our booking and wrote it in for the Friday (they were closed) when this was pointed out she seemed bemused but transferred the booking to the Saturday evening.
Now Saturdays for me are Strictly Come Dancing at the moment but I was willing to give this a miss for a good meal.
We got bathed and dressed and had hardly eaten all day in anticipation. Can you guess what is coming next? No? well let me tell you - we went into the entrance only to find a note on the door saying the restaurant was closed - you guessed it 'due to unforeseen circumstances!!!! Now what could be unforeseen this time?
We did not stay around to find out but I will say we will not be back as who is to say this will not happen again.
Sadly we did not get to try the food, only the coffee which was, well coffee.
Its a real shame as the place has stunning views, and not such a stunning garden which is large and unkempt except for the grass. So much could be made of this beautiful art deco building and the grounds but we will never be going back to find out. (and I missed strictly!)

Myself and my 9 year old daughter escaped to Weymouth for the last 4 days before back to school.
We looked online and loved the look of the hotel, so promptly booked a twin room (116). Had the most amazing time here, we were blessed with very hot weather so made good use of the outside pool. The trad.breakfasts were plentiful and hot, we also enjoyed the danish pastries, yogurts and fruit.
Dinner was wonderful and the sandwiches at lunch time round the pool were huge with chips and large fresh salad.
Staff helpful and prompt if required. Altogether a fantastic short holiday and we plan to go back next summer. Ps room 116 gave us views across Weymouth bay and we saw a beautiful sunset.

Room Tip: Ask for a sea view on left hand side of the hotel tower
