We spent 3 days here for New Year. Clive and Lesley were warm, friendly people and were very attentive, and will endeavour to carry out any special requests when asked. Breakfast was of the highest quality, using locally sourced ingredients and generous portion sizes too! The accommodation itself was fresh, modern and relaxing with everything needed for our stay. The bathroom was of a high standard and shower was excellent! The bed was comfortable and we particularly liked the foam mattress. The room was cleaned on a daily basis and the refreshments were also replenished daily. Location of the B & B is ideal, near enough to the esplanade but far enough to not be disturbed at night.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and appreciated everything Clive and Lesley did to ensure our stay was a pleasant one! Looking forward to returning in the summer!

Room Tip: Rooms 2 & 4 are largest and are at the front of B & B, room 5 is the entire attic level!

We have just spent three nights at the Alendale in Weymouth. Clive and Lesley are two people really making a effort to succeed. Accommodation was clean warm and comfortable. Breakfast was excellent, well prepared using high quality ingredients. If you can manage the full English it will give a new meaning to the phrase "all day breakfast" because you won't need anything else all day.

We arrived home today after spending two great nights at the Alendale in Weymouth. Our room was very clean, tidy and well equipped and the bed was really comfy. It was a chilly wind blowing outside, but the heating was roaring away, which was lovely to come 'home' too. The atmosphere is very relaxed, if you need help Clive and Lesley are always at hand, otherwise you're free to come and go as you wish. The Breakfast Menu is an absolute treat, all the produce is locally sourced and top quality, although I doubt they grow baked beans in Weymouth, but the ones provided were top notch. There are several options, I went for the full english both mornings and it was marvellous, but Lisa had the smoked salmon and eggs on the Saturday and loved it, as she did the full english on Sunday. The excellent selction on offer will set you up for the day guarnteed A very short walk into the main town, the Alendale is perfectly situated and you can safely leave the car in the ample off road parking at the rear. If you are going into town Witherspoons up by the lifting bridge is really good and not a yob to be seen, good pub grub and good deals on drinks. We also went to Chillis indian by the train station, which was very good indeed, and also Ming Wah chinese in the main street with all the shops. If you like chinese food this is the place to go, top food, top service. Go for one of the many set meals for two, better value and really great choice, they will swap items about if you don't fancy something. All in all a really great short break at the Alendale in the lovely Weymouth that we really both enjoyed. Book up, you'll love it!

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
The Alendale Guest House is a warm and comfortable Grade II listed Georgian building in the beautiful seaside holiday town of Weymouth, Dorset, situated in a terrace at the end of the esplanade. It is just across the road from the beach and a short walk to the harbour and shopping centre and the old town with its restaurants, bars and nightlife. Retaining many of its Georgian features and character, the guest house offers comfortable, fresh accommodation on a B&B basis. All the rooms have en-suite facilities and families are welcome. We pride ourselves at the Alendale on our high standard of cleanliness. In your room you will find a well supplied hospitality tray and often home made cakes. We also provide hair dryers, sewing kits and shoe cleaning kits. An iron and board can be provided on request and we can also arrange dry cleaning. The Alendale has a modern dining room that can sit 14, with views towards the beach. We have a wonderful breakfast menu and source all our produce, where possible, directly from Dorset. The menu includes a full English breakfast with a choice of selected extras, or perhaps local grilled kippers or scrambled egg and smoked salmon with toasted brioche. There is also a selection of tea, coffee and hot chocolate. You can also help yourself to our breakfast buffet which includes fruit and a range of Dorset Cereals. Special diets can be catered for with prior notice but we generally find that most vegetarians can find something suitable from the menu. Our motto is, "If we can, we will"! ... more   less
