Attraction details
Owner description: A varied 4.7 mile walk classed as Moderate along the South West Coast Path as it heads along the east coast of Portland, passing great scenery, historical forts and old quarry workings. Many of the paths around Portland Bill are accessible for powered wheelchair users and rugged pushchairs. The first ½ mile of this route follows a level wide path, but after this becomes more varied with some steep and uneven sections before reaching Church Ope Cove. From the cove to Portland Heights the path is relatively level apart from one steep climb.

Windy but with lovely views. A twitchers paradise.
The bus service needs improving, but our driver was really helpful.

Took the family to Weymouth but wanted to relive my childhood and go to Portland bill. Did the circuit and have to say it was worth the time. Something for everyone.

Third time of doing this lovely walk.
Picturesque, Fantastic views & ideal for a sunny day.
Need good footwear on feet as it is hard going in places. Especially where there are diversions, where landslides have happened. Always check out website (www.southwestcoastpath.com/faq/route-changes/) for updates. Weather can change quickly, always have waterproof handy.
Very good sights of interest on the way around, Portland Bill Lighthouse & Quarries to name a few.
Plenty of stop off points on the way. Ideal for Birdwatchers & Walkers alike.
Will do again next year.

Thank Trevor O
