Description: We, at our National British Pie Award winning Handmade Pie & Ale House are setting out to create the most premium of pies and to serve the most traditional, tastiest constantly changing ales, of which we always have some local and some from various parts of the country. We now have up to six to choose from and you are always welcome to have a FREE try before you buy!! We are proud to have our beautifully renovated old restaurant / bar where you can sit, enjoy and take in the charming surroundings whilst being looked after by our lovely caring staff and you can eat drink and be merry. Our pies are lovingly made by us, by hand, in our open-plan pie kitchen (where you can also see them being made!) With our homemade pastry and homemade fillings, no two pies are ever the same. We are constantly making our pies fresh from a selection of over 38 different flavours - we even make our own low calorie 'smart pies' and of course several vegetarian options. Also, if for some reason you don't fancy one of our multi award winning pies, we even have a NON PIE menu, which, believe it or not is called the 'We Don't Just Do Pies' menu! This has an ever changing variety of good old home cooking favourites and specialty boards, such as a meat & cheese sharer, our own crispy chicken wings, our own homemade gooey Brie Wedges in Panko breadcrumbs and 1/2 a rotisserie chicken on a board! Plus good old proper relaxing Sunday lunches, with roast leg of lamb, aged Scottish beef, stuffed rolled crispy belly pork etc. Not hungry? Alternatively, if you prefer just come and enjoy a drink in our beautiful bar and just have a good old piece of free hospitality on the side.......

“Just want the doctor ordered”

Well what a wonderful little pub! I am so glad this place has arrived in Weymouth as there aren't many nice pubs a woman can go into on her own and feel comfortable, yet this place does.
We decided to go here for Christmas Eve dinner, no stress and my mum had been raving about it
We did book a table, which i think is recommended due to how popular it is.
They did have a lot of handmade pies off the menu as they had sold out (good for them!) but i tried the Australian one with steak and cheese, mash potato on the side with mushy pies. Oh my goodness it was delicious, you definitely don't need a starter as the portions are huge, but i did not want the dinner to end.
They have a numebr of ales to choose from also, the atmosphere is really friendly and the decor is quirky.

Will definitely recoomend to anyone near by and travelling to Weymouth!

“SPOC PIE”
Reviewed December 28, 2013

If you are a veggie in Weymouth then this is the place to visit. My wife and I called in their on Christmas eve, prior to my wife`s Christmas day birthday, and received a very warm welcome from the very friendly staff and after looking at the menu chose the SPOC veggie pie with mash, peas and gravy and a bottle of house Merlot.
I/we could not fault any aspect of this visit, the pie was so good my taste buds are having repetative dreams of the crust and excellent filling and the mash was SO good, gravy likewise.
We travelled from Ramsgate to spend christmas in Weymouth and food wise this was the highlight of our festive break, crumbs!!! we wish we were back there now. Oh yes, the Merlot was top dot too. We will return.

“VERY VERY GOOD PIES”
Reviewed December 26, 2013

Had lunch here on Christmas eve after reading reviews on T/A and we were not disappointed we were greeted by a friendly member of staff who showed us to our table, we hadn't booked but it was mid afternoon so although some tables were occupied we were able to get a nice table.
There was a mistake with one of the orders but this was corrected quickly,
this place is all about the pies and I would say it was the best pie I have ever tasted and will certainly be visiting when next in Weymouth,
All in all good service, good food in lovely surroundings.

“Party Friendly”
Reviewed December 20, 2013

Eight of us eat at the amazing Pie and Ale House the other night. The choice of pies is numerous. One can have mash or chips come in there own wire basket with a choice of various side dishes such as mushy peas or side salad etc. All well presented by friendly and helpful waiting staff in lovely surroundings. It was enjoyed by everyone on our table.
P.S. It was very reasonably priced as well.
