Description: We, at our National British Pie Award winning Handmade Pie & Ale House are setting out to create the most premium of pies and to serve the most traditional, tastiest constantly changing ales, of which we always have some local and some from various parts of the country. We now have up to six to choose from and you are always welcome to have a FREE try before you buy!! We are proud to have our beautifully renovated old restaurant / bar where you can sit, enjoy and take in the charming surroundings whilst being looked after by our lovely caring staff and you can eat drink and be merry. Our pies are lovingly made by us, by hand, in our open-plan pie kitchen (where you can also see them being made!) With our homemade pastry and homemade fillings, no two pies are ever the same. We are constantly making our pies fresh from a selection of over 38 different flavours - we even make our own low calorie 'smart pies' and of course several vegetarian options. Also, if for some reason you don't fancy one of our multi award winning pies, we even have a NON PIE menu, which, believe it or not is called the 'We Don't Just Do Pies' menu! This has an ever changing variety of good old home cooking favourites and specialty boards, such as a meat & cheese sharer, our own crispy chicken wings, our own homemade gooey Brie Wedges in Panko breadcrumbs and 1/2 a rotisserie chicken on a board! Plus good old proper relaxing Sunday lunches, with roast leg of lamb, aged Scottish beef, stuffed rolled crispy belly pork etc. Not hungry? Alternatively, if you prefer just come and enjoy a drink in our beautiful bar and just have a good old piece of free hospitality on the side.......

“Excellent traditional Pies and pub”
Reviewed December 2, 2013

If you like really good homemade meat and veg. pies of all varieties plus either mash or chips and choice of veg. then this is definitely the place for you. We have visited a couple of times and have not been disappointed. The choice of pie filling changes regularly and the pastry is superb. Service is very good and polite with a good atmosphere throughout the restaurant. Needless to say we will return again.

“Good food well cooked”
Reviewed December 2, 2013

Pies were some of the best we have had. This was a group of ten friends who all agreed that the food was excellent value and very tasty. The service was good and the atmosphere great. Would thoroughly reccomend this establishment for an inexpensive night out.

“Excellent, the best pie I have ever had.”
Reviewed November 26, 2013

I found this gem on trip advisor and it really didn't disappoint. As usual we were looking for something to eat at a different time to everyone else, which was 4.00pm on a Tuesday in November. Lots of places in Weymouth don't serve food at this time so we were delighted that one of the places we fancied does. We came to Weymouth by train so the location was excellent for getting the train afterwards and the food, warmth, decor, value for money in fact absolutely nothing could be faulted. I would thoroughly recommend this place. We had a lunch time deal which went on until 5.00pm and was a pie main course and drink for £8.46. We nearly ordered a starter as we were starving and freezing having just come from the Sea Life centre, but I am glad we didn't as I couldn't eat another thing after the meal. I am not sure how long it has been open, because we once went in and it was a small old pub, but an excellent addition to Weymouth and I really hope they do well, they deserve to.

“Im sticking to the pies”
Reviewed November 26, 2013

Having eaten here many times & always had pie, I thought that maybe I would try something different for a change. Why did I order a pasta dish ?
I'm sorry to say that it wasn't very good at all.
I am not deterred from another visit & look forward to the best pie & mash around.
