Description: We, at our National British Pie Award winning Handmade Pie & Ale House are setting out to create the most premium of pies and to serve the most traditional, tastiest constantly changing ales, of which we always have some local and some from various parts of the country. We now have up to six to choose from and you are always welcome to have a FREE try before you buy!! We are proud to have our beautifully renovated old restaurant / bar where you can sit, enjoy and take in the charming surroundings whilst being looked after by our lovely caring staff and you can eat drink and be merry. Our pies are lovingly made by us, by hand, in our open-plan pie kitchen (where you can also see them being made!) With our homemade pastry and homemade fillings, no two pies are ever the same. We are constantly making our pies fresh from a selection of over 38 different flavours - we even make our own low calorie 'smart pies' and of course several vegetarian options. Also, if for some reason you don't fancy one of our multi award winning pies, we even have a NON PIE menu, which, believe it or not is called the 'We Don't Just Do Pies' menu! This has an ever changing variety of good old home cooking favourites and specialty boards, such as a meat & cheese sharer, our own crispy chicken wings, our own homemade gooey Brie Wedges in Panko breadcrumbs and 1/2 a rotisserie chicken on a board! Plus good old proper relaxing Sunday lunches, with roast leg of lamb, aged Scottish beef, stuffed rolled crispy belly pork etc. Not hungry? Alternatively, if you prefer just come and enjoy a drink in our beautiful bar and just have a good old piece of free hospitality on the side.......

Looked on trip advisor whilst away in weymouth, read the raving reviews for this place, Ooo!! we thought sounds really good. expecting homemade pie and chips and a nice pub.... Oh dear !! the pie I am sure was one of those round ones from tesco value range, and there was no meat in it ?? the chips although did look homemade, came in a tiny basket like a metal kids toy and there were about 5 chips, and the peas were hard. Also the service was bad, being made to wait for sauce to the point that you had finished your meal if thats what you can call it, and to top the terrible food and service etc, EVERYTHING is charged extra, £1 for the peas, £4.50 for the pie, and £ 2.50 for the chips, another £1 for the gravy etc etc etc, turns out an expensive dinner for a load of rubbish food and the beer is pretty poor aswell, This is one of the worst places we have been ever !!

“Definitely worth the walk!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 14, 2012

After starting up near the Pavilion we weren't sure about walking all the way down to the station to go to the Pie & Ale house, but thank goodness we decided to make the short trek!

What a fantastic place. Very clean and such a good vibe as soon as we stepped through the doors.

We both went for the breaded goats cheese and the roast beef dinner pies & both dishes were excellent. I'm glad to see that all the pies are oven cooked as they tasted so good.

Topped off with a great selection of beers it definitely won't be long before I'm back! Would definitely reccomend to anyone as the value for money was extremely good too. Keep up the good work!

“Great restaurant”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 14, 2012

We had dinner at this nice, clean restaurant sat 10th, the owner let us taste different kinds of British beer in very little and nice glasses. Dinner was tasty, we had meat pies and they were excellent: The service was fast and they were very nice. We spent about 25£ for two people.
Great place to visit, we really recommend it

“Am I still in Weymouth !”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 13, 2012

I’m from the north ! so I thought this place will have to be good to impress me, “these shandy swilling southerners won’t beat the Lancs / Yorks area for a pie and a pint”. WOW from walking in to the warm friendly atmosphere to the cracking selection of ales I know I was in for a treat ….. and I hadn’t even seen a pie yet. i needn’t have worried the pies matched the rest of the place. Well presented hearty and wholesome with a heap of class and damn tasty to boot. I can only see one fault with so many pies to choose from I’m now going to have to go back 30 odd times to try them all !! oh try the cheesy chips with a difference too
