Wadham Guesthouse
Ranked #66 of 166 Weymouth B&B and Inns
Reviewed May 1, 2013

The Wadham is a delightful B&B with very friendly and helpful hosts.Food and room excellent.
Excellent location right in Town shopping strip, close to harbour and the beautiful esplanade. Also a very pleasant little Pub right opposite (The Globe).
Although the weather was quite cold and windy we were pleasantly surprised that Weymouth was such a lovely place and would definately visit again if and when we get to the UK again.
We were disappointed our visit was not longer to enjoy the hospitality at the Wadham.
Would have no hesitation in recommending the Wadham Guesthouse.

Excellent guest house from which to explore Weymouth. Close to shopping, historical past of Weymouth and the beach, although we were not too interested in that when the temperature was - 2 degrees and very blustery. Excellent friendly hosts, comfortable rooms and a lovely communal lounge on the first floor for guests use as well.

The Wadham is very close to the harbour and the main shopping area with good access to the Esplanade.

Fairly easy to find, directly opposite The Globe pub, with a public car park 1minute away which is free overnight during winter until 8am. However, the Wadham does have on-street parking permits (don’t forget to return it and get your £15 deposit back). As with most guest houses in Weymouth there are steps to the front entrance. A friendly welcome from the owner and then up to the third floor at the top of the house. Good roof top views with a different perspective of the town.

Comfortable double bed although the room (no.8) was compact. No seating except a small stool. Everything was very clean with pristine white towels. A rather small wardrobe, fine for an overnight stay for shirts, although insufficient for hanging long coats or dresses. Tea and coffee facilities along with a bottle of water. Hair drier also provided.

En-suite shower and toilet were fine, although the electric shower was rather noisy in operation. The wifi signal can be weak at the top of the house, although there is a lounge where it can be picked up adequately.

Breakfast was good with filter coffee, full English and toast.

Good value for money!

A superbly appointed guest house that fits the bill. Friendly and welcoming owners, comfortable beds, great pub opposite...what more could you want.

I have no hesitation in recommending Wadham Guesthouse to anyone looking for a well located base in Weymouth.

PS Great breakfast too!

Room Tip: When booking ask for a parking permit.

We have been staying at Wadham Guesthouse since 2006. It has always been clean and rooms comfortably appointed.

We were sceptical about going this year as new owners took over in May but needn't have worried, it was even better. We stayed in a great family room at the top overlooking the roofs to the harbour.

The breakfasts were excellent and fresh fruit and yogurt were on offer, as well as the usual cereals and cooked breakfast. There was a choice of smaller breakfast for smaller appetites if preferred which was the option I chose. The owners were more than accommodating and nothing was too much trouble.

Wadham Guesthouse is near the ferry terminal so ideal for travelling to the channel islands or day visits to Jersey/Guernsey.

We always request a room at the back as quieter and a pleasant outlook to their garden.

I would advise a walk to Lodmoor Nature Reserve, we never tire of a walk around the lake there and it is popular with twitchers - there happened to be a rare bird there on this visit so was quite busy. There's a new attraction called Sealife Tower which opened 2012, we didn't go on it but it looked quite exciting. There are regular buses to Lulworth Cove, Portland Bill, Lyme Regis incorporating the Jurassic Coast.

Room Tip: Rooms at the back of the guesthouse are quieter and overlook the garden area.
