We have been staying at Wadham Guesthouse since 2006. It has always been clean and rooms comfortably appointed.
We were sceptical about going this year as new owners took over in May but needn't have worried, it was even better. We stayed in a great family room at the top overlooking the roofs to the harbour.
The breakfasts were excellent and fresh fruit and yogurt were on offer, as well as the usual cereals and cooked breakfast. There was a choice of smaller breakfast for smaller appetites if preferred which was the option I chose. The owners were more than accommodating and nothing was too much trouble.
Wadham Guesthouse is near the ferry terminal so ideal for travelling to the channel islands or day visits to Jersey/Guernsey.
We always request a room at the back as quieter and a pleasant outlook to their garden.
I would advise a walk to Lodmoor Nature Reserve, we never tire of a walk around the lake there and it is popular with twitchers - there happened to be a rare bird there on this visit so was quite busy. There's a new attraction called Sealife Tower which opened 2012, we didn't go on it but it looked quite exciting. There are regular buses to Lulworth Cove, Portland Bill, Lyme Regis incorporating the Jurassic Coast.More
