My fiance and i found this lovely pub 2 yrs ago when staying at haven, just been again when on a short break with my mum and niece, staff were so lovely, the carvery had turkey and gammon,we fancied beef, which was still cooking but the chef cut us a huge slice and pan fried it for us,it was lovely.a lady helped my niece get her lunch as she could see i was struggling as i use a stick.

nothing was too much
trouble, and we had gorgeous homemade crumble for dessert.
WE will be going again in october when we visit.

The staff could n't have been more helpful and were very accommodating. Would recommend.

We went for a last minute evening meal at the springhead and we had a lovely time. The staff were friendly, the atmosphere was relaxed and background music was nice. The food was delicious...inbetween pub food and fine dining. Delicious steak and wedges. Will be going again soon.

We were staying in Weymouth and wanted a meal at a country pub for a birthday treat. Found the village and pub by following the signs from the main road. Lovely setting by the stream and we were expecting a really good meal. Staff were not overly friendly when we were seated and we waited ages for our order to be taken. It was a long wait for the focaccia bread with oil and balsamic dip but what a disappointment it was. The bread had obviously been warmed in the microwave and was boiling hot and soggy. The oil had the tiniest drop of balsamic in it and it was really not worth the price charged. We had the sea bass which was very good but very expensive and the trio of rare breed sausages which were accompanied by mash and peas and almost non existent onion gravy. Waited ages for the meal so didn't bother with dessert. At no time were asked if our meal was okay. Will not be visiting this pub again.

Such a shame, we visited over the August bank holiday weekend, managed to get a table. It has a fantastic setting, well presented decor and pleasant staff, but, if you're going to set out spaces for people to eat please make sure you've enough staff to cover their needs. Had to wait 1:15 for dinner and another 25mins for ice cream, aahhhhhh!
I must say though that they were very apologetic and didn't charge us for the ice creams and gave us a drink on the house, however it would have been much more enjoyable had we not had to wait soooooo long for service.
The food however was faultless, it was done to perfection, the obviously had time to make sure it was cooked correctly!
I would give it a try again, probably not on a bank holiday weekend though, such a shame. :(
