We've just had a 2 night stay at the Rembrandt and reading some of the earlier non favourable reviews can only conclude that a considerable amount of work has been done over the last few months. We had a double room in the original building. It was clean and spacious with all the facilities expected, (tea/coffee making, TV with digital channels etc) The clean, tiled & roomy bathroom had both a bath and a very powerful shower with loads of hot water. We opted for the carvery which we both enjoyed and we found the staff friendly & helpful.
A couple of negative points: The seats in the bar were extremely uncomfortable (we used the comfy lounge instead) and we both hated the hard foam pillows.
To summarise we both felt it was a good value and pleasurable stay. We would certainly go again. (But with our own pillows!)
