I stayed for 2 nights on a B and B basis.
The staff were exceptionally friendly.
The hotel, although large, had a good atmosphere about it. The room was clean with all you would expect to find.
The breakfast was served politely and quickly, with very good and well cooked ingredients (full English).
I had an evening meal at the Crown which was of good quality and pleasantly served, and was also excellent value, as was my room.
I booked a space in the garage at the back. On Saturday afternoon when I arrived I did find it difficult to shoe horn my car in to a very tight gap, and was a little worried that I was unavoidably blocking another car owner from even entering his vehicle, so tight was the space. You leave your keys with reception and I did harbour a thought that if someone other than me repositioned my car damage would have been a possibility.
Sunday though was fine.....only 3 cars in the garage.
One final thing. Don't expect a peaceful nights sleep on Friday/Saturday nights. I had a 1st floor room (14). The windows are not double glazed. I was kept awake pretty much through the early hours of Sunday morning by drunken, loud, revellers in the street outside. Even at 5am I was awoken from fitful sleep by a couple of very loud females outside. Sunday night was much quieter apart from a street sweeper and bin lorry before dawn on Monday.
Bring ear plugs..........................
Aside from this which is an issue beyond the Crown's control (short of replacing all windows) my stay was excellent.

We have stayed at a number of hotels in Weymouth over the past few years , some not so good , some good , but the Crown Hotel is by far the best we have stayed in !
The rooms are spotlessly clean , not massive , but comfortable , with a very comfortable bed , and the ensuite shower and bath very clean .
Breakfast was served at a reasonable time from 8.30 - 9.30 am . Only sat down for 30 seconds and we were being served with coffee / tea . Where our orders were taken for our breakfast , a full English , which was with us within a couple of minutes , and piping hot , all of the service was done with a smile and a chat , and the staff actually seemed to enjoy their jobs !
The manager , believe his name was Jamal ??? Seemed more like an entertainments manager , good fun , always smiling and laughing , but seemed to be very efficient !
All the bar staff , the young girl on reception ,(Emma i think) Ray the night porter , were all such lovely people .
The Hotel were having a Tinsel & Turkey event , which was good fun for the older guests , and was enjoyable for us to watch ,
Perfect position in the town also , close to the lovely Harbour , beach and town centre .
Will be returning soon .

Stayed with my husband and a couple of friends for the night. A bit dated and probably suits older people, but it had such character compared to modern hotels. Lots of rooms, the bed was comfortable and the room and bathroom were clean (again a little dated). Full English breakfast served very nicely by staff. It was a small breakfast but just enough with plenty of toast, tea and coffee. It was an absolute bargain in price and situated by the bay and 5 minutes walk from sea front.
Would return!
Car park a bit small and tight but book in advance for
A space.

Stayed at the crown in Weymouth for one night. Had travelled from near heathrow and wanted to have a short break visiting weymouths shops and brewers quay. This is a great location as so near to the shops. Parking is available in a lock up garage on their premises for only £3 per night which is great as can be difficult parking in Weymouth and many b&bs and hotels do not have any parking. Corridors of hotel are a little worn and dusty looking but the rooms had obviously been newly refurbished and lots of nice wooden furnishings, new bedding and curtains in all three rooms that we rented. Rooms were comfortable and clean with lovely en suite bathrooms all with showers over the bath and great supply of powerful hot water to have a great shower.
Tea making facilities in room as you would expect and small bars of soap for customers. Would have been nice to have other toiletries but this is very reasonably priced so very happy. I had a full mixed grill in the restaurant which included 4oz steak, 4oz chicken, 4oz gammon, large mushroom, tomatoes, chips, salad, 2 sausages and 2 fried eggs. This was less than £8 and was one of the dearest meals on the menu. My husband had a home made cottage pie that was pretty large and a generous pudding all for less than £7 for both courses. My father in law and mother had roast lamb dinner and a pudding each again for less than £7 for both courses. We had planned to go to wetherspoons but this was even better value and all meals were good and served up onto a well presented table. Breakfast was included with room at £30.60 per single room and just over £50 for a double room. Breakfast was not huge but was well presented and we all had a full English but you were allowed to chose from a selection. Staff were very nice in all areas and had a good sense of humour.
We will definitely return at a later date.

Room Tip: Ask for one way from noise if possible as Weymouth is full of pubs and clubs and our rooms were a li...

Just returned from a weekend at The Crown with a group of 13 friends. Had read the reviews before we booked some time ago, and again before we left. All seemed good. The hotel is in an excellent location close to the harbour and all the amenities. Nice, comfortable bar with one real ale. We all had single ensuite rooms which were clean and comfortably furnished. All the staff were friendly, cheerful and obliging, particularly in the dining room for breakfast (which was excellent) especially as most of us felt somewhat 'sluggish' after nights sampling the local brews in the numerous, well stocked, nearby 'hostelries'. Parking in the garage at the rear is a little 'quirky', with the need to do a little 'shunting' but it is well worth reserving a space at the extra cost of £3.00 per night as I am not sure where the nearest 'municipal' alternative is in relation to the hotel. Being so central there was some early morning noise from 'revellers' returning home but the hotel cannot be blamed for that. In hindsight it would probably be worth asking for a room away from the front of the hotel, or the adjacent side street. To sum up it was, overall, a very pleasant stay and the hotel is punching well above it's 2 star category. I sincerely hope that I have the pleasure of staying there again in the not too distant future.

Having arrived in Weymouth after dark with no accommodation pre-booked, we walked into the Crown as a result of the positive reviews on TripAdvisor.
The location is great - very near the centre and lots of restaurants.
The service was fantastic - friendly, cheerful and helpful. We got a great recommendation for dinner (Oasis Bistro on the other side of the bridge).
However, our room was very basic and quite depressing. Very small, dated and pokey -- in need of some TLC and a bit of effort. There was nothing on the walls, so it felt bare and uninviting. There was just some packets of greasy soap in the bathroom (although the shower was good), so no added extras.
Breakfast was adequate but not the buffet style that I'm used to - a small cooked breakfast, a single glass of juice, some stewed tea in a cheap tea can.
I guess the reviews here vary by expectation. It seemed very popular with coach trips for older folks and the price was good, but it wasn't right for a 30-something couple.
