Crown Hotel

Just spent a few days at the Crown and found it to be a lovely old fashioned hotel where staff speak to the guests.where meals are served by waiters in a very clean dining room on spotless table linen and before I forget the food was excellent. Rooms very clean with plenty of tea coffee and milk. Bar prices were reasonable and compared favourably with local bars. A very good friendly hotel where all the staff were friendly and polite. Would not hesitate to stop here again

Room Tip: Ask for a quiet room away from he front which can be a bit noisy

Stayed for carnival week in the Crown and was very impressed. First the negative, yes it can be noisy due to location, I didn't hear a thing but partner is a light sleeper struggled however ear plugs from boots soon solved that. Now the positives, great location for all of Weymouth easy access by car/walking. Staff are fantastic, from reception greeting, housekeeping in a morning to vaults bar in the evening. However a special mention to the dining team Sharon, Laura and Jack were fantastic and are an asset to the hotel. The food was basic but done very well, just don't have the trifle ha ha. Nothing is too much trouble and if your with a coach party take advantage of the packed lunch, Bargain. Overall if in Weymouth will return to the Crown, hard to find such great customer service.

Had a short midweek stay , didnt expect much but was pleasantly surprised with the hotel . Pre booked onsite parking at £3 per day , bargain ! The staff were all extremely helpful and polite . The room was nice and clean , all facilities you would expect . Only had breakfast at the hotel so cant comment fully on the food , but full breakfast was excellent , and staff waited on you which was a bonus , and offering extra portions of toast bacon eggs etc and tea/coffee refills , which set me up for the day . Didnt use the hotel bar but it looked ok , although did feel out of place when i looked in , as most patrons/customers were of a more mature age , nothing wrong with that at all . The location is right on the edge of town so good for shopping or eating out with plenty of bars around you , and of course the harbour . The only negative thing i can say about this hotel is the noise ,which i must stress was external from streetcleaners or bin lorries and some noise from the nearby bars later on , but apart from that an excellent stay and would definitely visit again .

We stopped at the hotel last night due to the fact our ferry was due in late and with a 6 month old in tow I didn't want to travel back on no sleep. Our ferry back from Guernsey was delayed a few times and each time the hotel were very accommodating stating our check in was okay for whenever we arrived. We paid £3 for parking however in arrival the "car park" was not brilliant,it was basically a gap between properties, enough to fit 2 cars side by side at a push. After checking in with the night porter (who was very helpful) it appeared we had been booked into the garage, however my car was deemed too big to fit, so we had to park in the bowling alley car park across the road at a charge of £10. These restrictions on parking really should be made clear.

The room was large, enough for all three of us, and the travel cot had been set up for us, which was great so we could put the little one to bed straight away.

The room wasn't the cleanest, and what really freaked us out was the fact that the hotel information book had a page about safe disposal of hypodermic needles, which didn't exactly fill us with the warm and cosy feeling you expect from a hotel.

All in all, considering we booked this last minute and the staff were mega accommodating I can't really complain, but think the hotel need to look at a few things.

This was a last minute, short break booked for Hubby and I. As soon as we walked through the door we were greeted with a welcoming lobby and helpful staff.
Our room was lovely and clean - on the front by the bridge.
Breakfast was superb! Waiter/waitress service - much nicer than buffet style. Nothing was too much trouble, I could hear people around us asking for various different items and the answer was always the same - yes sir/madam no problems. Food was hot and tasty. service was prompt and polite.
We also ate in Vaults restaurant (attached to the hotel) What a good choice! Roast chicken dinner - again tasty, prompt and hot (not chicken slices either but a huge chicken breast).
All staff were smart, helpful, polite and friendly - I would definitely book here again!
The only downside would be the parking but this seems to be the same for most hotels in Weymouth - street parking using a permit (only £3 a night). But once we found a space we had no reason to move.
There is a club opposite which maybe noisy at weekends but we certainly had no problems and slept soundly.
Well done to all staff at Crown Hotel!!
