My grandma and I stayed in this lovely B&B. I absolutely adored this serene location! The twin bedroom we stayed in was so classy and clean!IIt was extremely tasteful and beautifully decorated! Barabara and Graeme were the most welcoming people. I was really happy because we were offered home-made chocolate cake, which had just come out the oven! I also really enjoyed a lovely warm bath after a refreshing ten minute walk to the lively town centre. I went straight to sleep as i got into the most comfortable bed ever! The traditional british cooked breakfast the next morning was mouthwatering and delicious! The continental alternative which my grandma chose was equally outstanding! I highly reccomend this B&B to anyone who wants to come to Weymouth!

Tea and home made cake on arrival, fantastic breakfast and friendly/welcoming people. Beautiful room. Great location. Unfortunately we were unable to get any hot water for a shower/bath when we arrived which was diaappointing. We found out that other guests had used all the hot water as they had done a marathon. The owners apologised profusely but we felt this was a big let down and bought down the value of the room along with the later 4pm check in time. The bathroom was also very very cold and an old sock in the wardrobe must have been overlooked. Very comfy bed, great sleep!

Hi Ryan & Sarah, many thanks for your review, they are always much appreciated.
It was unfortunate about the hot water situation, but as you were aware we had a group of people arrive back at the house after take part in the Endurance Life marathon at Lulworth Cove, covered in mud at 4.30 and they immediately started running hot baths and taking showers at the same time you starting taking a bath, and the hot water system needed 30 mins to replenish itself, which would be the same in any domestic household. It was unfortunate but beyond our control.
It was only only a short time before you we're able to have a bath and take a shower etc which of course you did.
Also regarding the check in time, we noticed you commented on the check in time being after 4pm, we always ask guests by email for their estimated time of arrival, because numerous guests request an earlier check in, especially when they are goings to Weddings and Parties etc, and providing we are are aware of an earlier check in time it is no problem whatsoever. We often have guests arriving as early as 1pm and as late as 10pm.
As we didn't hear anything to the contrary from you, we assumed you would be checking in at our usual check in time which is between 4 and 6 pm. When you telephoned us on the day of arrival at around 12 o'clock, we were out shopping and not at home to let you in, but were happy for you to leave your car in our car park until normal check in time around 4 pm. Obviously if we know guests are checking in earlier we would be there to welcome them.
Sorry about the sock left in the wardrobe, I genuinely didn't notice the sock at the bottom of the wardrobe in the corner, I always meticulously check the drawers etc for things like socks etc, and everything was clear and ok, I did check the wardrobe in case anything had been left hanging up etc, but failed to miss the sock right at the bottom.
We are pleased you enjoyed your stay with us and once again thank you for your kind review.
Best regards,

Graeme and Barbara

Having stayed with the owners at their previous B&B in Eastbourne, we thought we would see what their new place in Weymouth was like. We were not disappointed! Once again, you are made to feel at home as soon as you arrive. The Old Rectory is a real find, just yards from the sea and well placed for restaurants and pubs. The inside is charming too, with beautifully coordinated furniture and bedrooms and a stunning pannelled entrance hall. The owners remain great hosts and the delicious and copious breakfast fills you up till tea time! Well done yet again Barbara and Graeme!

Room Tip: There are only three rooms. We slept in one with purple covers and curtains, which had an amazingly...

Graeme and Barbara make you feel at home as soon as you walk through the door, offering afternoon tea and homemade chocolate cake. It hit the spot on a wet and windy afternoon and was a really nice touch! The room we stayed in was divine, with its own balcony, from where you could see the sea, with a roll top bath in the bathroom. There were lots of personal touches, which made the place, and us, feel very special. I would love to come back in summer and make full use of the table and chairs outside. Sadly, it was not to be this time! However, the drink-making facilities in the room, with a variety of choices and delicious biscuits kept us going till the morning! The TV was small, but adequate and the bed was big and comfortable, with crisp linen sheets and soft duvets and pillows. We slept like logs! The next morning, breakfast was a feast! We had the full English, coffee, toast, juice and cereals! It was served to perfection, at exactly the time we had requested on arrival. We will definitely be going back and thoroughly recommend this gem to anyone who wants to visit Dorset. Weymouth is a great base to do this and the Old Rectory provided lots of useful suggestions for sight-seeing.

This is a beautifully restored Art Nouveau style house which has been tastefully and sympathetically furnished by the owners, Barbara and Graeme. We stayed here on our wedding night and were given the warmest welcome. The room had been decorated with fresh flowers and was just fabulous - sea view, balcony, crystal chandelier, sumptuous fabrics and a huge ensuite bathroom with a deep roll-top bath, massive shower and lovely fluffy towels. A note was left inviting us to call down whenever we were ready for breakfast. Our stay could not have been a more perfect and romantic start to our marriage, Thankyou Barbara and Graeme - you were charming !

We stayed here for 3 nights for a short getaway. Graham and Barbara were perfect hosts, making us tea on arrival and ensuring we were settled into our lovely room (the chenille beach). The room was very tastefully furnished, spotlessly clean and the bed was very comfy.
The breakfasts were superb with lovely home made fresh fruit salads and a fantastic cooked breakfast. We are vegetarian and Barbara took care to ensure we were catered for and we were not disappointed.
I cannot fault this place at all. We will definitely be returning. Thanks again Graham and Barbara!

Room Tip: The chesil beach room is lovely and airy.

What a beautiful B&B, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay here, the room was stunning, the bathroom gorgeous, When we arrived a very smiley and friendly Barbara greeted us and showed us to our room. We then had coffee and home made cake, yum yum delivered by an equally friendly Graham. The location was good, just a short walk to the promenade and then a little way up to the bars and restaurants. We had a very comfortable, snuggly nights sleep and then breakfast was amazing, lots of choice and lovely freshly prepared food. We felt that Barbara & Graham had thought of everything you could need or want when away from home. All in all fantastic and we would definitely stay again if we are in the area.
