Lovely pub and lovely location ,
I have reviewed this place before but felt I had to again as we returned 6 months later to find it wasn't quite as good.
The place is lovely and the prices good, we had a few drinks on the sat eve but were made to feel unwelcome when the subject of food was approached so we left but returned on the Sunday for a roast which was very nice and good value.
This pub is lovely and could be made better if it was a little less appealing to the local jobless drop outs that 6 months later are still falling asleep at the bar mid day in their track suits and white trainers!! I'm no snob and I love local boozers but its a well known local fact that this place is the local cash your giro hang out( just ask any taxi driver)
I wouldn't let it put you off though there are too doors and the less desirable tend to be down the end by the main bar so grab a seat in the sun by the top door and watch from a distance because desirable or not its entertaining watching the local Jeremy Kyle show carry on! We saw a fight, a drink knocked in the harbour, a local dead beat asleep on a stool, someone's bum cleavage plus various heated discussions, not the place for kids but for a bit of amusement and a good value meal and drink its a winner!!
