My new husband Tim and i :) called at The Nothe twice during our weekend sta,y after being recommended by the landlady at The Warwick.
First visit was at Saturday Lunch,it was not crowded when we arrived which was after 2pm, lovely large room, comfortable and relaxed. We ordered a light bite and both had steak baguettes with onions and stilton....tender, tasty and large baguette, coleslaw and salad were both fresh and tasty. Bottle of chardonnay...very nice.
Sunday we booked at 3pm for the carvery, Tavern was full but still had a nice relaxed feel another bottle of chardonnay and the carvery was great, i only had the beef, my hubby had beef, pork and ham and it all was very tasty, great cauliflower cheese, generous portions, loved every bit.
Please visit you won't be dissappointed.....i have to mention the bar and serving staff....they are very friendly, would definately visit again.

My family and I visited the nothe tavern early Saturday evening for my sisters birthday meal. The staff were excellent, really friendly and they could not do enought for my young son and niece (ages 2 and 3). Food was lovely and enjoyed thoroughly by all. The children's meal was quite big so easily shared between 2 little ones! Staff were so accommodating which makes it such a bonus when trying to entertain little ones through a meal. Reasonable prices too. Thank you to the staff for making our evening so pleasurable and we will definitely be visiting again!

A fantastic choice of pork, beef or ham. You could have a bit of everything if you wanted. The veg was some of the best we have had at a carvey.

The potatoes were a little on the harder side than I would have preferred and the Yorkshire Pubs weren't homemade. A little disappointing!

The child's portion of fish pie was enormous and a little daunting for a 3 year old. Perhaps you could have a "toddler menu" and serve half the portion. Mums and dads don't like to see food go to waste.

Thankyou for leaving your review and we are sorry some aspects of the carvery were not to your liking on this ocasion. I think you or one of your party commented on this on our Facebook page, which I replied to. Regarding the fish pie, we have always tried to give value, which as a parent I expect, however maybe the portion may have been to large for the age of your child and we will ensure our serving staff give the option of a smaller size to the little ones. Hopefully we will see you again in the near future..
