“Watch out for swans with young ones”
Reviewed June 30, 2013

A lovely walk round this reserve. Plenty of seats and view points. At this time of year there are lots of yound ducks and swans. We were nearly all the way round the lake when we met 2 adult swans with 2 young ones on the path in front of us. No way were they going to move. They hissed and flapped their wings at us so we had no choice but to turn round and go back the way we had come.

“Birds on the wing, Nice Stroll, Nature...What's not to like?”
Reviewed June 24, 2013

Radipole Lake is a Shangri-La among urban malignant growth. Birds of various species can be found throughout the year. Paths guide you along within the acres of reed beds as you spot these feathered creatures happy in their surroundings. Plenty of areas to sit and feed Ducks and Swans which is always a thrill for Children and for the adults. Wheelchair friendly and a large HIDE is available to watch nature in full form. The Urban sprawl lies all round the lake and the sound of a thousand cars drown out the natural Bird-Song. Not a place for silence and solace, but a refreshing break from everyday life. If you are lucky, you may see some Otters. RSPB Rely on visitor support and a small visitor centre with a Café is available. A must do activity if you are visiting the Town.

“Great for bird watching!”
Reviewed June 24, 2013

This was a real find! RSPB hut on site with local knowledge. Lots of waterfowl, herons, sea birds and other small birds. Good for walking around. Don't forget your binoculars.

“Great way to spend an afternoon”
Reviewed June 21, 2013 via mobile

We had a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon at the reserve, after a look in the visitor centre we headed out on the short walk suitable for my wheelchair. It was a beautiful day, lovely to see all the cygnets, ducklings and baby coots. We then got some duck food and stood on the bridge feeding, very funny. We then went back in the visitor centre for a cuppa before leaving. I would thoroughly recommend a visit.

“Great afternoon out”
Reviewed June 16, 2013

Liked the location almost in the town and obviously being used by locals as well as RSPB members. Well looked after despite some dog use by unaware visitors. Good birdwatching and very convenient location. Loads of seagulls, one of which 'christened' our car - so a lucky day all in all!
