We had not eaten at Sense since it first opened in 2007 and then moved to larger premises in 2011 (Manbo’s now occupies the original site). We had booked at 7pm so restaurant was relatively empty and lacked ambience at first, but is certainly smart and modern. For starters we had Dorset Blue Mushrooms and Grilled King Prawns and Scallops Skewer – delivered to wrong table, returned to kitchen and then re-appeared some minutes later! To be fair waitress gave us a free drink on the house to compensate and the starters were fine. Main course was Cherry Tomato Linguini and Fillet Steak. The steak was meant to be medium but came almost rare so had to be returned – but came back re-plated, refreshed and properly cooked without fuss. Bill for two courses and drinks was under £50 so very good food and good value for money. Certainly hovering around Top 5 restaurants in Weymouth (with Floods, Oasis, Mallams, Vaughans and Manbo’s).
