Had a brunch here but if you're vegetarian go elsewhere they have very little for such people.

“Good but only just”
Reviewed February 16, 2012

Decor is looking old-fashioned, smart has moved on since the 1990's.
Menu was uninspired, no specials of the day, just a selection off their standard menu. Unchanging?
The courtesy rolls looked perfect, a flour blend with promise, possibly wheatgerm, but and a big disappointing but, they were frozen and microwaved. Left them dry with a soft powdery crust. Oh dear.
Starters butternut squash risotto and vegetable soup. Risotto was a tad too al dente for my taste and had hard pieces of the squash in it. Prepared to give Chef credit of any doubt. Soup was underwhelming.
Mains was turkey breast and crusted cod. A good portion of turkey was again dry and lacking in taste. The ham wrapping flavour barely came through. I fear another re-heat job. A small Cod portion also was dry. Both served with same accompaniment of vegetables, roasted potato quarters, medley of carrot, fine beans, salsify, mange-tout. Smallish portion but adequate.
Pana Cotta with dried apricots was in contrast flavoursome and enjoyable.
A plus point , the food was not drowned in cream, butter or salt, reflecting today's concerns.
House white was very pleasant and quaffable.
Service was on the whole attentive and polite with out being overbearing.
If you want no more than a reliable meal in pleasant surrounding this may suit you.
Will I be making that extra mile back here. No. There are other choices out there more uptodate.

“Memorable Meal of 2011”
Reviewed January 7, 2012

Hamiltons is a no frills restaurant at the North end of Weymouth sea front. My wife and I each had 3 courses with a drink. Bill £55.10. What was outstanding for me was my Beef & Venison Pie, with vegetables of course. (£12.50). Normally a restaurant pie is heavy on the pastry and gravy. This pie was a nice balance of pastry and solid with meat. When I eat out I usually forget what I've had within a few days or weeks. I will remember Hamiltons' Beef & Venison Pie for a long time.

“Best in Weymouth!”
Reviewed October 25, 2011

We have just had the best meal of our stay! It's a quiet little restaurant that serves 'proper' food that is all cooked from scratch. The flavours are devine and the service is quite but attentive. We didn't feel rushed at all and my wheat free diet caused no issues at all. I would highly recommend this resturant to anyone who loves food that is cooked by a profession with a taste for beautiful flavours! Yummmm!!!!
